Description
The AGM Wolf-14 NL1 Monocular (AGM item 11W14122153011, UPC 810027777263) is a compact night vision monocular fitted with a Gen 2+ Level 1 image intensifier tube with a green P43 phosphor screen. Gen 2+ is the most affordable way into true image-intensified night vision, and Level 1 is AGM’s entry grade, chosen for value rather than top-end resolution. Green phosphor is the traditional night vision look, and the eye is very sensitive to that color, so detail stands out well under moonlight and starlight.
AGM Wolf-14 NL1 Monocular Overview
The Wolf-14 is a compact, versatile monocular that can be handheld, worn on a head mount or attached to a helmet. The distributor lists a 25mm objective with a wide 42 degree field of view at 1x, a length of about 4.5 inches and a weight of only about 0.64 pounds, which makes it easy to wear for hours.
It runs on a CR123A or AA battery for up to about 40 hours, and bright-light shut-off circuitry protects the tube. A built-in IR illuminator adds close-range light in total darkness.
Image Intensifier Tube
The NL1 configuration is the part of this listing that sets it apart from other Wolf-14 versions: a Gen 2+ tube with green phosphor. Photos show the Wolf-14.
AGM grades its tubes by resolution and image cleanliness. For the exact resolution, figure of merit and blemish specification of the tube in this unit, check the AGM datasheet or ask us before you order.
Controls and Features
A single operating knob controls the device. On a head or helmet mount it flips up out of your line of sight, and the flip-up turn off function shuts it down so you do not waste battery or show eye glow.
A range of compatible lenses adds magnification for longer-range viewing, and the eyepiece adjusts for diopter from -5 to +5.
What Is Included
The box includes a Rhino mount, J-arm, soft bag, lens paper, a safety hard case and the user manual.
Who Benefits Most
This version suits first-time night vision buyers, hog and predator hunters on a budget, and landowners who want a dependable image-intensified device for checking fields and fence lines without paying Gen 3 prices.
Honest Limitations
As a single-tube monocular it gives no stereo depth perception, so moving fast over rough ground takes practice. Magnifier lenses and helmet mounts beyond the included head mount are extra.
Long sessions on a head mount need a well-adjusted strap. Night vision image intensifiers are export-controlled and sold for use within the United States. Check AGM’s current warranty terms before you buy.
