AGM PVS-14 3APW Monocular Overview
The PVS-14 has been the standard military night vision monocular for decades, and AGM’s version follows that proven layout. It weighs about 12.4 ounces, measures roughly 4.5 by 2.5 by 2.7 inches, conforms to MIL-STD-810G and is waterproof. It runs on a single AA battery, with up to about 40 hours of runtime with the IR illuminator off, and operates from minus 60 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Image Intensifier Tube
The 3APW version pairs the PVS-14 body with a Gen 3 auto-gated, FOM 2000+ image intensifier tube that uses a P45 white phosphor screen. P45 renders the scene in shades of gray rather than the traditional green, which many users find easier to read for fine detail, shadows and contrast over a long night. Auto-gating rapidly switches the tube power to protect it and keep the picture usable when headlights, flashlights or muzzle flash suddenly appear. AGM grades its tubes into levels based mainly on resolution and image cleanliness. Controls and Features
Manual gain control lets you set image brightness for the conditions, while an automatic bright-light cut-off protects the tube from damage. LED indicators inside the field of view warn of low battery, IR on and excessive light. The built-in infrared illuminator provides close-range light that is invisible to the naked eye.
