AGM NVG-50 3APW Night Vision Goggles – Flawless Gen 3 White Phosphor

Description

The AGM NVG-50 3APW Night Vision Goggles (AGM item 14NV5123474111, UPC 810027779441) is a dual-tube night vision binocular goggle fitted with a Gen 3 auto-gated image intensifier tube with a white P45 phosphor screen, in AGM’s high-performance FOM 2000+ grade. It pairs Gen 3 gallium arsenide sensitivity with the natural black-and-white image of white phosphor, and auto-gating protects the tube and keeps the picture usable around headlights, flashlights and muzzle flash. A figure of merit of 2000 or more puts it well above AGM’s Level 1 tubes for resolution and signal-to-noise.

AGM NVG-50 3APW Night Vision Goggles Overview

The NVG-50 is the wide-angle version of AGM’s dual-channel goggle. Its 51 degree field of view at 1x shows noticeably more of the scene than a standard 40 degree goggle, so you turn your head less when walking or scanning. Two image intensifier tubes give true binocular vision with natural depth perception, and the goggle weighs about 1.35 pounds (615 g).

A single CR123A or AA battery runs it for up to about 20 hours. Multi-coated optics, a fog-proof and waterproof composite housing, about 17mm of eye relief and diopter adjustment from -6 to +2 round out the package. Focus runs from 0.25 meters to infinity.

Image Intensifier Tube

The 3APW configuration is the part of this listing that sets it apart from other NVG-50 versions: a Gen 3 tube with white phosphor, in AGM’s FOM 2000+ grade. Note: photos show the NVG-50 housing, which is identical across tube options.

AGM grades its tubes by resolution and image cleanliness. For the exact resolution, figure of merit and blemish specification of the tube in this unit, check the AGM datasheet or ask us before you order.

Controls and Features

An integral infrared illuminator with two power levels gives light for reading or close work in total darkness. For hands-free use, the goggle works with many common mounts, including AN/PVS-7D, AN/PVS-14, AN/PVS-15 and AN/PVS-18 style mounts and mini-rail interfaces.

A preinstalled NVG interface shoe fits standard dovetail headsets and helmet mounts, and the included bayonet/horn interface shoe fits bayonet-style mounts.

What Is Included

The box includes the goggles, both interface shoes, two demist shields, two sacrificial windows, soft carrying case, lens cloth, battery adapter and user manual.

Who Benefits Most

This version suits serious users who want a premium Gen 3 white phosphor image, professionals and hunters who spend many hours under the tube each season, and anyone who values the cleanest view in AGM’s range.

Honest Limitations

A wider field of view spreads the same tube resolution over a larger scene, so fine detail at distance is slightly less sharp than with a 40 degree lens. Two tubes cost more than one, and a head or helmet mount is sold separately.

Carry spare batteries for long nights. Night vision image intensifiers are export-controlled and sold for use within the United States. Check AGM’s current warranty terms before you buy.
