The AGM Comanche-40ER 3AL1 Clip-On (AGM item 16C4O123453011, UPC 810027772428) is a night vision clip-on that mounts in front of your day scope fitted with a Gen 3 auto-gated Level 1 image intensifier tube with a green P43 phosphor screen. Gen 3 brings a gallium arsenide photocathode for high sensitivity in very dark conditions, and auto-gating rapidly cycles tube power so the image stays usable and the tube stays protected when lights or muzzle flash appear. Level 1 is AGM’s entry Gen 3 grade.
AGM Comanche-40ER 3AL1 Clip-On Overview
The Comanche-40ER is AGM’s extended-range night vision clip-on. It mounts to a standard Weaver or Picatinny rail in front of your existing day scope and turns it into a night vision sight with no re-zeroing, with capability out to about 1000 yards. It works with day scopes of up to 10x magnification.
AGM lists a 108mm F/1.54 objective with a 9 degree field of view at 1x, a weight of about 2.0 pounds (0.91 kg) and focus from 10 meters to infinity. It runs on a CR123A battery, or an AA with the included adapter, for up to about 40 hours.
