Description
The Federal 222 Rem 50gr JSP load is built for shooters who want more from their .222 Rem than typical factory ammunition delivers. Federal loads a 50 grain jacketed soft point to a rated 3140 feet per second, producing about 1095 foot-pounds of energy. Power-Shok soft points use a tapered copper jacket and a lead core designed for rapid, controlled expansion on varmints and small predators, paired with consistent powder charges for the accuracy the .222 Remington is known for.

- Quality brass cases and reliable primers
- Consistent accuracy shot after shot
Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance Federal builds into every cartridge.
Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the Federal 222 Rem 50gr JSP until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.
About the .222 Remington
Introduced in 1950, the .222 Remington set benchmark accuracy records in benchrest competition for decades and became a classic varmint cartridge. It offers light recoil, low muzzle blast and excellent accuracy out to moderate ranges, which makes it well suited to groundhogs, prairie dogs and foxes, especially in more populated areas where a quieter cartridge is an advantage.
