Description
The Stevens 555 Trap 12 Gauge 30-Inch is a single-barrel break-action shotgun with a 30-inch barrel, a Turkish Walnut stock, and a single-shot design. It is a focused, affordable trap gun.
Stevens 555 Trap 12 Gauge 30-Inch Overview
The 555 Trap puts a single barrel on the lightweight Stevens 555 action to create an affordable dedicated trap gun. The aluminum alloy receiver is scaled to gauge and carries a steel insert to strengthen the breech, keeping weight down without giving up durability. A raised ventilated rib, a bead sight, and Turkish walnut furniture round out a simple, focused shotgun for breaking targets on the trap line, and it is offered in both full-size and compact configurations.
Action and Barrel
The single 30-inch barrel is carried on a raised ventilated rib that helps you hold a consistent sight picture over the trap house. The break-open action is simple and fast to load, and the tang-mounted safety is easy to reach without shifting your grip. The barrel accepts choke tubes, and Full, Modified, and Cylinder tubes are included so you can tune the pattern from the 16-yard line or back on handicap.
Stock and Fit
The Stevens 555 Trap 12 Gauge 30-Inch wears a Turkish Walnut stock and fore-end. Length of pull is 14.57 inches. A recoil pad at the butt softens felt recoil and keeps the stock from slipping on your shoulder. Overall length is about 47.5 inches and the gun weighs about 7.5 lbs, solid enough to soak up recoil while still carrying comfortably.
Sights and Chokes
A bead sight on the raised ventilated rib gives a clean, simple reference on every target. Full, Modified, and Cylinder choke tubes are included.
In the Field
In 12 gauge, the shotgun handles the widest range of loads on the market, from light target shells to heavy hunting and defensive loads, and ammunition is easy to find almost anywhere. It is built for trap shooting, and the compact models give smaller shooters and youth league members a gun that fits.

Care and Cleaning
Cleaning is simple. After each outing, run a bore brush and patches through the barrel and wipe down the choke tube threads, wipe the metal with a light coat of gun oil, and check that the action is free of dirt and debris. Remove and clean the choke tubes regularly, and put a little choke tube lube on the threads so they do not seize. Wipe the walnut with a soft cloth to keep moisture off the finish.
