FN designed the Reflex to be different from the striker-fired micro compacts that dominate the market. It uses an internal hammer with a single action only trigger that breaks at about 5 pounds, giving a short, clean pull with a positive reset. 3 inch cold hammer-forged barrel has a 1:10 twist, and the slide has front and rear cuts for easy grip and a low racking force, which helps shooters with less hand strength. Sights are 3-dot irons with a high-visibility tritium front insert ringed in orange.

The slim frame has a non-proprietary accessory rail compatible with compact lights like the SureFire XSC and Streamlight TLR-7 Sub, and the magazine release is reversible. This MS model adds an ambidextrous manual safety on top of the pistol’s multiple redundant internal safeties. 27 inches tall and 1 inch wide.
