Description
The Retay Asend 22 LR Walnut 20″ is Retay’s take on a premium rimfire bolt gun: a Remington 700-pattern action in .22 LR, a Turkish-oiled walnut stock and a 20-inch heavy barrel threaded for a muzzle device. It is built to be an accurate, handsome squirrel rifle, plinker and training gun. This listing is Retay model ASD22-SWAL-20, UPC 193212030702.
Retay Asend 22 LR Walnut 20 Overview
Retay built the Asend around an R700-style bolt action, which gives the rifle a familiar feel for anyone who has shot a centerfire hunting rifle. The barrel is drilled from solid steel using Retay’s Dead Straight deep bore process, then finished in hard black chrome for corrosion resistance. It is a free-floating, heavy straight-taper profile, and Retay rates the rifle for sub-MOA accuracy at 50 yards.
Walnut Rimfire Rifle Details
The stock is all-natural Turkish-oiled walnut, giving the Asend a classic look that synthetic rimfires cannot match. A bowtie-style Picatinny rail on the receiver accepts standard scope rings or a red dot. The threaded barrel (1/2×28) accepts common rimfire muzzle devices and is capped with a thread protector.
Uses Common 10/22 Magazines
One of the most practical features of the Retay Asend 22 LR Walnut 20″ is that it feeds from 10-round 10/22-type rotary magazines. They are inexpensive and widely available, so buying spares is easy. Note that some extended or aftermarket 10/22 magazines may fit differently in a bolt action, so test any non-factory magazine before relying on it.

Why Choose a 22 LR Bolt Action
A 22 LR bolt action is one of the best tools for building marksmanship. Cycling the bolt by hand slows you down and makes every shot count, and the light recoil lets you focus on trigger control and breathing. Ammunition is cheap compared with centerfire, so you can practice often. For hunters, a quiet, accurate rimfire is ideal for squirrels and rabbits, and the Retay Asend 22 LR Walnut 20″ has the barrel weight and rail you need to mount a quality scope for precise shots out to 50 yards and beyond.
Things to Know Before You Buy
Rimfire accuracy depends heavily on ammunition, so try several brands of standard-velocity and match ammo to find what your rifle likes. The 20-inch heavy barrel adds weight and steadiness but makes the rifle less handy than the 16-inch version in thick woods. Walnut needs a wipe-down after wet hunts. Any device on the threaded muzzle that qualifies as a suppressor is regulated under the NFA and is not legal in every state.
Who the Retay Asend 22 LR Walnut 20 Is For
Small game hunters, new shooters learning fundamentals, and centerfire hunters who want an affordable trainer with a similar action feel will all get a lot out of this rifle. If you want a lighter, quicker-handling version, compare it with the 16-inch Asend.
