Description
The Sig Sauer P226 40th Anniversary marks four decades of the pistol that built SIG in the United States, and it is a limited run rather than a catalog item. MAG5 Firearms stocks it with retro Hogue alloy grips, SIGLITE night sights, two fifteen-round magazines and the vintage packaging that makes this one a keeper rather than a shooter.
Forty Years of the P226
The P226 was designed for a US military trial it did not win, then went on to arm federal agencies, police departments and militaries around the world for four decades. Very few service pistol designs stay in production that long without being redesigned around their own flaws.
The Sig Sauer P226 40th Anniversary celebrates that run with a gun built to current standards wearing period-correct details, rather than a modern pistol with a logo stamped on the slide.
Retro Grips and Finish
Hogue alloy grips in the original pattern are the visual signature of this edition. They give the pistol the profile that a generation of shooters remembers, with better durability than the polymer panels on a standard gun.
A black Nitron finish covers the slide, which is both correct to the era and more corrosion resistant than the bluing that would have been period accurate.

Sig Sauer P226 40th Anniversary Shooting and Handling
Nothing about this edition is decorative. A 4.4-inch barrel, an all-metal frame and a DA/SA trigger with a decocker make it the same excellent shooter the P226 has always been.
SIGLITE night sights come standard, so the pistol is genuinely usable in low light rather than being limited to daylight range trips.
What Makes It Collectible
Vintage packaging and a limited edition History of the P226 booklet ship in the box. Those are the pieces that disappear first on the secondary market, so keep them with the gun.
Limited production runs cannot be reordered once they sell through, which is why the Sig Sauer P226 40th Anniversary tends to hold value better than a standard production pistol.
Availability and Transfer
MAG5 Firearms is a licensed FFL dealer in Pennsylvania. This pistol ships new with both magazines, the booklet, the commemorative packaging and SIG documentation, transferred through your local FFL.
P226 magazines are widely available, so shooting this one does not mean hunting for spares.

Every Sig Sauer P226 40th Anniversary sold by MAG5 Firearms ships new in the factory packaging with the accessories SIG SAUER includes, and transfers to your chosen FFL. The Sig Sauer P226 40th Anniversary is a regulated firearm and we verify licensing before any order leaves the shop.
