Beretta M9A4 Overlanding Lunar 15 Round 9mm Threaded — Superb Cerakote Pistol

Description

The Beretta M9A4 Overlanding Lunar 15 Round is the understated one. Lunar Cerakote is a pale grey-green that reads as neutral rather than tactical, and fifteen rounds is the capacity the 92 frame has been built around since the 1980s, so spares are cheap and available everywhere.

This is part number JS92M9A4GLUN15: a 5.10-inch threaded barrel, an optic-ready slide, and an aluminium frame with a beavertail and a Picatinny rail, with Cerakote over both slide and frame. The G suffix means the Beretta M9A4 Overlanding Lunar 15 Round is decocker only, with no manual safety.

What Lunar Cerakote offers

• Full coverage on slide and frame rather than the slide alone
• A muted grey-green that does not look like a costume piece
• Corrosion and abrasion resistance well beyond a bare or anodised surface
• Handling marks and holster wear are far less visible than on black
• No effect on function: everything underneath is standard M9A4

Why fifteen rounds is the practical capacity

• Fifteen-round 92-series magazines are the cheapest and most widely stocked
• Lawful in more states than the eighteen-round magazine, and simpler to travel with
• Grip length, weight and handling are identical to the other capacities
• A shorter spring stack is under less tension in long-term loaded storage
• Higher-capacity magazines still fit wherever they are permitted

Decocker only, and what that removes

On a standard 92 the lever both decocks the hammer and stays engaged as a manual safety, which means the pistol can be drawn with a dead trigger. The Beretta M9A4 Overlanding Lunar 15 Round is a G model: the lever decocks and springs straight back to fire, so that failure mode does not exist.

It is the configuration most agencies issuing the platform specify. For practice, CCI Blazer Brass is the economical option, and cartridge dimensions and maximum pressures are published by SAAMI.

The 92 action outdoors

The open-slide design is very hard to foul with dust or grit, and there is no ejection port for a case to hang up in. An aluminium frame and steel slide take knocks that would mark polymer, and the Beretta M9A4 Overlanding Lunar 15 Round carries Cerakote on both, which matters on a pistol that lives in a vehicle through temperature swings and condensation.

The visible hammer is the underrated part. You can read the condition of the pistol at a glance rather than by feel.

Setting it up

The Beretta M9A4 Overlanding Lunar 15 Round takes a dot, a light and a muzzle device with no gunsmithing at all. Optic adapter plates are footprint-specific and sold separately. A suppressor is an NFA item requiring ATF approval before transfer, and MAG5 Firearms does not deal in NFA items.

Higher-capacity 92-series magazines, including the Mec-Gar 30-round, fit wherever those are lawful.

Why this pistol earns its place

• A neutral Cerakote finish across both slide and frame
• The Beretta M9A4 Overlanding Lunar 15 Round is decocker only, with no manual safety to leave engaged
• An optic cut, an accessory rail and a threaded muzzle from the factory
• Fifteen-round magazines are the cheapest and most available for this platform
• An aluminium frame and steel slide, which very few makers still offer

The Beretta M9A4 Overlanding Lunar 15 Round suits someone who wants the Overlanding specification and the Cerakote durability without a colour that draws attention. The same finish is offered at ten rounds, and the range also comes in Nomad Bronze and Clay.

All firearm purchases ship to a licensed dealer and require a completed background check. Contact MAG5 Firearms if you need help arranging the transfer.
