Description
The SureFire 123A Rechargeable Battery Kit (SureFire SFLFP123-KIT) includes two SFLFP123 rechargeable 123A cells and a smart charger that fully charges both cells in about three hours. It is the simplest way to start running a SureFire WeaponLight or flashlight on rechargeable power for training and everyday use.
SureFire 123A Rechargeable Battery Kit Overview
Disposable 123A lithium batteries are excellent for duty use but costly to burn through on the range or at home. This kit gives you everything needed to switch to rechargeables in one box. Each SFLFP123 cell is rated at 3.2 volts and 450 mAh, and SureFire says the cells keep roughly 80 percent of their original capacity even after hundreds of charging cycles. Charge at home, at the office or in a vehicle, and you are back in business.
What Is in the Box
The kit contains two SFLFP123 rechargeable cells and a compact two-bay smart charger. The charger manages the charge cycle for you and stops when the cells are full, so there is no guesswork about overcharging. Spare SFLFP123 two-packs are available separately if you want a second set ready to swap in while the first set charges.
Capacity Trade-Off
Rechargeable cells give up some capacity compared with primary lithium 123A batteries, so expect shorter runtime per charge. That makes these ideal for practice, classes and nightly household use. For a duty or defensive light that may sit unused for long periods, many users keep primary lithium cells installed and rely on the rechargeables for training. Topping off the cells before a range trip keeps runtime predictable.
Compatibility
SureFire built these cells for its own lights, including WeaponLights, handhelds and hands-free lights that use 123A batteries. Use in other devices such as electronic sights, cameras or other brands of lights is at your own discretion, since some electronics are sensitive to the slightly higher voltage of lithium iron phosphate cells.
Charging Best Practices
Use only the included charger or another SureFire-approved charger for these cells. Never mix rechargeable and disposable cells in one light, and always replace both cells together in two-cell lights. Store spare cells in a protective case, away from keys and coins that could short the terminals, and keep the charger out of direct sun in hot vehicles.
A Practical Rotation System
Many owners pair this kit with a spare two-pack of SFLFP123 cells. One set lives in the light while the other sits on the charger, so a fully charged pair is always ready. Label each pair with a marker so they stay together and wear evenly over time. Retire any cell that shows physical damage, swelling or a sharp drop in runtime.
Honest Limitations
Runtime is shorter than with primary lithium cells, and rechargeable cells slowly lose charge in storage. Plan on topping them off before you depend on the light. The cells are a 123A form factor only and will not replace 18650 or 18350 batteries.
