Description
The Trijicon RCR Closed Emitter Red Dot is Trijicon’s sealed answer to the one real weakness of a miniature reflex sight. It carries a 3.25 MOA dot, mounts on the RMR footprint, loads its battery from the top, and is rated to sixty six feet of water. Manufacturer part number RCR1-C-3300001.

Open Emitter Versus Closed Emitter
In an RMR or an SRO the LED sits in a small well at the front of the housing and projects its light forward onto the back of the lens. That well is open to the world. Rain, snow, mud, lint from a holster, sunscreen, or blood can settle in it and the dot dims or disappears entirely.
A closed emitter puts a second piece of glass in front of the LED so the light path is sealed end to end. Wipe the outside and the dot comes back. That is the whole design argument for the Trijicon RCR Closed Emitter Red Dot, and it is why closed emitter optics have taken over duty and military use.
It Drops Into An RMR Cut
Trijicon kept the RMR mounting footprint. If your slide is already milled for an RMR, or you own RMR plates and mounts, the Trijicon RCR Closed Emitter Red Dot bolts onto the same hardware. You get a sealed optic without paying for new machining, which is unusual when a manufacturer changes an optic this fundamentally.
It is slightly heavier at one and ninety five hundredths of an ounce against the RMR’s one and two tenths, and marginally taller. Deck height is matched to the RMR, so your existing suppressor height irons should still co witness the way they did before.
Sealed Well Past What Most Shooters Need
Submersion is rated to sixty six feet, which is twenty metres. For comparison the SRO is rated to ten feet. Operating temperature runs from forty below to a hundred and forty Fahrenheit, so the Trijicon RCR Closed Emitter Red Dot is specified for a Pennsylvania January and an Arizona August without qualification.
The housing is 7075-T6 aluminium, the same alloy family used in the SRO and in aircraft structure, and the capstan screws that hold the windage and elevation adjusters are designed so that a knock moves the housing rather than the zero.

Six Years Of Battery And A Top Loading Cap
Trijicon rates the CR2032 at over six years of continuous use at setting five of ten. That is longer than the RMR and longer than the SRO, and it is measured at a middle brightness rather than the lowest setting, which is how battery figures are usually flattered.
The cell loads from the top. You will never dismount the Trijicon RCR Closed Emitter Red Dot to change a battery and you will never re-zero after doing it. Between that and a six year rating, the practical maintenance burden on this optic is close to nothing.
Why Shooters Choose The Trijicon RCR Closed Emitter Red Dot
- Closed emitter, so rain, lint and debris cannot block the dot
- Drops onto the existing RMR mounting footprint
- Top loading battery, so no remount and no re-zero
- Over six years of battery life at a middle setting
- Ten brightness settings including three for night vision and one super bright
- Submersible to 66 feet and rated from -40F to 140F
Ten Settings Including Night Vision And Super Bright
Three of the ten settings are night vision compatible, dim enough not to bloom in a tube. One is a super bright setting well above normal daylight, which matters when you are shooting into snow, white sand, or straight at a low sun where an ordinary daylight setting washes out.
Adjustment is one minute per click with a hundred and fifty minutes of total travel, and eye relief is unlimited as it is with any reflex optic. Mount the Trijicon RCR Closed Emitter Red Dot where your presentation naturally puts your eye and the dot is where you look.
Where The Closed Emitter Actually Earns Its Keep
If your pistol lives in a safe and gets shot on sunny range days, an open emitter will never let you down and the RMR is a lighter, cheaper answer. The sealed design starts to matter the moment the gun is exposed to weather or carried against the body.
Duty carry in rain or snow, a truck gun, a hunting handgun in wet country, a home defence pistol that may be fired one handed from an awkward position, or a training environment where the optic gets dusty and stays dusty. In those conditions the Trijicon RCR Closed Emitter Red Dot keeps working when an open emitter would need wiping first.
Mounting And What Is Not In The Box
No mount is included. On a pistol with a factory optics cut you need the correct RMR pattern plate for your slide. On an uncut pistol the slide must be milled or you fit a rear sight mount. On a rifle, carbine or shotgun you need a picatinny mount at the height you want.
Because the Trijicon RCR Closed Emitter Red Dot shares the RMR footprint, the mounting hardware you may already own almost certainly fits. Tell us what you are fitting it to and we will confirm the right plate or mount before it ships.

Zeroing And Living With The Trijicon RCR Closed Emitter Red Dot
One minute per click against a hundred and fifty minutes of travel means zeroing is quick and there is far more range available than any sane mounting will use. Once zeroed, the Trijicon RCR Closed Emitter Red Dot asks almost nothing of you: no battery ritual, no wiping the emitter well, and no seasonal worry about weather.
