Description
The BSA Optics RD30 30mm Red Dot 5 MOA is a simple, affordable tube red dot for rimfire rifles, air rifles, shotguns and other short range guns. It gives you a bright 5 MOA aiming point with unlimited eye relief, so you can shoot with both eyes open and get on target fast.

BSA Optics RD30 30mm Red Dot 5 MOA Overview
BSA catalogs this sight as the RD30. It is a 1x sight with a 30mm objective lens, a matte black finish, and windage and elevation adjustments in 1/2 MOA clicks. It is about 3.8 inches long and weighs about 5 ounces, light enough that it will not throw off the balance of a small 22 LR rifle. The included rings clamp to a 3/8 inch dovetail, the groove style base found on most rimfire receivers and air rifles.
Brightness Control
A rheostat dial gives you 11 brightness settings. Use the low settings indoors or at dawn and dusk, and turn it up for bright sun or snow. Set the dot just bright enough to see clearly; too bright a dot can bloom and look larger than 5 MOA.
Battery
The RD30 runs on one CR2032 lithium battery. Turn the dial off after each range session to save power, and keep a spare battery in your range bag.
Mounting
Slide the rings onto the dovetail, set the sight so your head sits naturally on the stock, and tighten the clamp screws evenly. On an airgun with heavy spring recoil, use a scope stop if your rail has one so the sight does not walk back on the rail.
Who Should Choose the RD30
This sight is a great match for a first rimfire rifle, a youth gun, a pellet rifle, or a plinking setup where you want a dot instead of iron sights. It is also a budget friendly way to try a red dot before you spend more on a duty grade optic.
Product Note
Our distributor description lists this sight as 7.5 MOA, but the title, the Sports South listing and other retail listings for UPC 631618101263 call it a 5 MOA dot. We list it as 5 MOA here; check the box on arrival if the dot size matters for your use.
Zeroing Tips
Most rifle and shotgun shooters zero a red dot at 50 or 100 yards, depending on the gun and how it will be used. Start at about 25 yards to get on paper, then move back and fine tune. Fire small groups before each change, and confirm zero with the ammunition you plan to use.
Battery Care
Replace the battery once a year on a defensive gun, even if the dot still looks fine, and keep a spare in your range bag. Wipe the lens with a soft cloth or lens pen, not a shirt tail, to keep the coatings clean. If the dot seems dim or flickers, check the battery and contacts first.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
