Description
The Leupold DeltaPoint Pro NV Red Dot Sight is a compact reflex sight with a 2.5 MOA red dot in a matte black housing. It is built for fast shooting on pistols, rifles and shotguns, with a big, clear window and a bold aiming point that is easy to find under pressure.
Leupold DeltaPoint Pro NV Red Dot Sight Overview
Leupold sells this sight as part 179585. It weighs about 2 oz and is about 1.8 in long. The housing is machined from aircraft-grade aluminum, and the sight is waterproof, fogproof and shockproof. One CR2032 battery loads from the top, so you can swap it without removing the sight or losing zero. Leupold rates battery life at about 1,600 hours on low, 1,000 hours on medium and 300 hours on high.
Brightness Settings
The night vision version has 10 brightness settings. Two of them are dim enough to match the sensitivity of night vision devices, and the top setting can be customized so you can jump straight to full brightness when you move from indoors into bright sun. The dot works well in daylight and under night vision.
Battery Saver
Leupold Motion Sensor Technology turns the dot off after about five minutes without movement and turns it back on as soon as the gun moves. That stretches battery life on a gun that sits in a safe or nightstand, while keeping the dot ready the moment you pick it up.
Adjustments
Windage and elevation adjust in 1 MOA clicks, with about 60 MOA of travel in each direction. That is plenty of range for zeroing on a pistol slide, a shotgun rib or a rifle mount. The coin click adjustments are positive and easy to count.
Mounting
The DeltaPoint Pro footprint is one of the most common pistol optic patterns, and many slides are milled for it directly. Optic plates are also available for popular pistols, and Leupold sells an AR mount, a cross slot mount and ring top mounts if you want to run it on a rifle or shotgun.
Store Title Note
Our distributor feed lists this item as a black DeltaPoint Pro with a 2.5 MOA dot. The UPC matches Leupold part 179585, the DeltaPoint Pro NV in matte black, which adds night vision settings to the standard DeltaPoint Pro.
Built to Last
Leupold designs, machines and assembles the DeltaPoint Pro in the USA and backs it with its Full Lifetime Guarantee. If it ever fails, Leupold will repair or replace it, no matter who owns it.
Zeroing Tips
On a pistol, most shooters zero at 15 to 25 yards. On a carbine, 50 yards is a common choice. Start close to get on paper, then move back and fine tune. Each click moves point of impact about a quarter inch at 25 yards and about one inch at 100 yards.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
