Description

The Bond Arms Ranger II 45 Colt 410 is a two shot stainless steel derringer from Bond Arms chambered in .45 Colt and .410 bore, with a 4.25 inch barrel and extended black ash grips with an inset star. This listing is UPC 855959001840. It has a stainless steel frame and barrel and a trigger guard.

Bond Arms Ranger II 45 Colt 410 Overview

Bond Arms builds its derringers in Granbury, Texas, from stainless steel. They are simple, strong and compact, and they are popular as backup guns, trail guns and collector pieces. The Ranger II is a tribute to the lawmen of the frontier, with a star set into dark black ash grips and a long 4.25 inch barrel.

Lawman Styling

Black ash grips with an inset star give the Ranger II a darker, more formal look than the rosewood Rustic Ranger. The 4.25 inch barrel adds velocity to .45 Colt and gives a longer sight radius for better hits.

Two Barrels

Like other Bond Arms derringers, this pistol has two stacked barrels and fires one round from each. On standard Bond Arms frames, the barrel block can be swapped for barrels in other calibers, so one frame can cover several cartridges.

Safety and Action

Bond Arms pistols are single action, so you cock the hammer for each shot. A cross-bolt safety and a rebounding hammer add security. Bond Arms warns owners never to carry its handguns cocked and locked, so carry with the hammer down and follow the owner manual.

Grip and Frame

The extended grips give room for the whole hand, which matters with .45 Colt and .410 recoil in a compact pistol. The stainless frame and barrel add weight that helps keep muzzle rise in check, and the trigger guard adds protection when holstered.

Choosing Ammunition

This pistol fires .45 Colt cartridges and .410 shotshells. Bond Arms warns never to fire .454 Casull, .45 +P, .45 Corbon or other high pressure .45 loads in its pistols. Check the barrel marking for the longest .410 shell it accepts. Shot loads work well on snakes and pests at close range, and standard pressure .45 Colt is the choice for everything else.

Carry

A derringer carries well in a pocket or belt holster made for Bond Arms frames. Practice drawing, cocking and firing with an unloaded gun until it becomes second nature.

Cleaning and Care

Stainless steel resists rust, but clean both bores after each range trip, especially after shooting lead bullets or shot shells. Wipe the frame with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.

State Laws

Some states and cities restrict handgun purchases or limit which models can be sold. Check your state and local laws before you order. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
