Six and a half inches of ported, underlugged barrel in matte stainless, a full-size cylinder that holds six rounds instead of five, and an adjustable rear sight so you can put it exactly where you want it with whatever load you settle on.

Sighting it in – and why adjustable sights matter here
Loads for the Taurus 44 Magnum 6.5 Inch vary enormously. A 180-grain hollow point and a 320-grain hard cast leave the muzzle at very different speeds and land in very different places at fifty yards. Fixed sights force you to accept whatever the factory chose; the adjustable rear on this revolver lets you zero for the load you actually use. Pick your hunting or carry load first, then spend an afternoon getting the sights right for it. The .44 Special loads will print somewhere else entirely, which is fine for practice.
Pressure and dimensional standards for both cartridges come from SAAMI, and factory ammunition is loaded to them.
The rest of the big-bore range
The 4-inch Model 44 in stainless is the same six-shot gun cut down for carry, and the Tracker 44 in black oxide is the lighter five-shot medium frame.
