Description
The Savage Impulse Big Game 6.5 Creedmoor is a straight-pull bolt-action centerfire rifle with a 22-inch carbon steel barrel, a camouflage synthetic stock, a 4-round detachable magazine, and a user-adjustable trigger.
Savage Impulse Big Game 6.5 Creedmoor Overview
The Impulse is Savage’s straight-pull bolt-action rifle, letting you cycle the action with a simple back-and-forth motion of the bolt handle instead of lifting and rotating it. That means faster follow-up shots without breaking your cheek weld or taking your eye off the target. The 6.5 Creedmoor is famous for its mild recoil, high ballistic coefficient bullets, and long-range accuracy, with plenty of energy for deer, pronghorn, and similar game.
Barrel and Action
The 22-inch carbon steel barrel has a od green finish. The muzzle is threaded for a muzzle device or suppressor where local law allows; suppressors are NFA items that require an approved ATF Form 4.
Stock and Fit
The camouflage synthetic stock is built to handle real-world use, and synthetic material will not swell or warp in rain or humidity.
Sights and Optics
The rifle is ready for the sighting system that suits your use; check the specifications below for sights and mounting options.
Trigger
Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets you set your own pull weight for a crisp, clean break, and the center safety blade helps prevent accidental discharge. A light, predictable trigger makes accurate shooting much easier.
Capacity and Handling
The 4-round detachable magazine loads easily and makes unloading quick and safe. Spare magazines make range days more productive.
In the Field
Spend time at the range shooting from field positions and confirm your zero before each season, and you will have a dependable rifle that makes ethical, accurate shots.
Ownership and Value
A dependable rifle is an investment that pays off every season. Savage rifles are known for accuracy that punches above their price, and the brand has a long track record with hunters across North America. Scope mounts, magazines, and accessories are easy to find, and the rifle will serve you well for years with basic care.
Setting Up Your Rifle
Choose a scope that matches your hunting distances, mount it in quality rings with the correct torque, and set eye relief carefully, since magnum recoil punishes a scope mounted too far back. Zero at 100 or 200 yards with the exact load you plan to hunt with, confirm your drops at longer ranges, and practice from field positions so you can place shots confidently when it counts.
Care and Cleaning
A little routine care keeps the Savage Impulse Big Game 6.5 Creedmoor running smoothly. After each outing, wipe down exposed metal, clean the bore, keep moving parts lightly lubricated, and store the gun in a dry place.
