Description
The Federal 20 ga 3/4oz Rifled Slug load is built for hunters who want dependable patterns on deer and hogs. Federal loads 3/4 oz of Rifled Slug lead shot to a rated 1600 feet per second in a 2-3/4 in 20 Gauge shell. Power-Shok rifled slugs are designed for smoothbore shotguns. The hollow point nose promotes rapid expansion on deer, while the rifling on the slug helps stabilize it in flight for dependable accuracy at typical shotgun ranges.

Built for Deer Hunting
- Designed for smoothbore barrels
- Hollow point for fast expansion
- High 1600 fps muzzle velocity
- Affordable load for practice and hunting
Patterning your shotgun with a new load is the best way to know how it performs. Shoot a few rounds at a large sheet of paper at 25 to 35 yards with the choke you plan to hunt with, and check that the densest part of the pattern lines up with your point of aim. Trying a tighter or more open choke can make a real difference on fast, close birds.
Store shotshells in a cool, dry place in their original box, and keep loads with different shot sizes separated so you always grab the right shell in the field. Buying enough from the same lot for the whole season keeps velocity and pattern consistent from one hunt to the next, so your practice carries over to the field.
The 20 gauge has become a favorite for clay target shooters because its lighter guns and softer recoil reduce fatigue over hundreds of rounds, while a well-made load still breaks targets cleanly. Many skeet competitors shoot a 20 gauge in their sub-gauge events, and sporting clays shooters often choose it for smooth handling on fast crossing and incoming targets.

Why Choose Federal 20 Gauge Shotshells
A 20 gauge deer gun is lighter and kicks less than a 12 gauge, and a good rifled slug gives it all the authority needed for deer inside 75 yards. The Power-Shok 3/4 ounce hollow point slug leaves the muzzle at 1600 fps and expands quickly for a large wound channel.
Because it is designed for smoothbore barrels, hunters can use the same field gun they carry for birds, simply switching to an open or improved cylinder choke or a slug barrel with sights.
Federal Premium has made ammunition in Anoka, Minnesota since 1922 and is one of the most trusted names in shotgun slugs. Its Power-Shok line gives hunters dependable, affordable deer loads, and federal 20 ga ammo from this line is a common choice in shotgun-only deer zones.
Power-Shok 20 gauge rifled slugs suit deer hunters in shotgun-only zones, younger or recoil-sensitive shooters, and anyone who wants an affordable, dependable slug for a smoothbore 20 gauge. Always confirm your shotgun is chambered for 2-3/4 in 20 Gauge shells, wear eye and ear protection, and follow all federal, state and local hunting laws.
