Description

A-Zoom 32 ACP Snap Caps are machined aluminum dummy rounds in 32 ACP, five to a pack. This cartridge lives in Walther PPKs, Colt 1903s, Beretta Tomcats and a long list of other small pistols, most of which are either collectible, hard to source parts for, or both.
How A-Zoom 32 ACP Snap Caps Are Built
Each round is CNC machined from solid aluminum billet to the exact dimensions of a loaded cartridge and hard anodized. One piece, no separate case head, no plastic body. On a small semi-rimmed case there is not much material for a two-piece dummy to grip, which is why a machined solid is the right approach.
The primer end carries a proprietary polymer cushion instead of a live primer, rated by A-Zoom for more than three thousand strikes. Small blowback pistols often use slender firing pins in configurations that are no longer manufactured, and that cushion is what keeps them whole.
Because A-Zoom 32 ACP Snap Caps match loaded cartridge dimensions, they feed from a magazine and extract like real ammunition rather than rattling in the chamber and telling you nothing.
Why Small Pistols Need Them
Tip-up barrel designs like the Beretta Tomcat and 3032 are the clearest case. Those pistols genuinely should not be dry fired empty, and the manual says so. A pair of A-Zoom 32 ACP Snap Caps in the chamber turns dry fire from an act of vandalism into practice.
Magazine sorting is the other job. Most 32 ACP pistols are old enough that their magazines have been sitting loaded, dropped, and stored badly for decades. Hand cycling dummies through each magazine is the fastest way to find the one with tired feed lips before it fails at the range.

Field Notes
Collectible pistols benefit most. A Colt 1903 or a wartime PPK is not a gun you want to be sourcing a firing pin for, and A-Zoom 32 ACP Snap Caps cost almost nothing by comparison.
They are also useful for safe storage and display. A magazine of obviously inert dummies keeps a pistol looking and functioning normally without anything live in the gun.
The polymer cushion is a consumable. When the face is deeply cratered and stops rebounding, retire that round rather than continuing to strike a dead cushion.
One practical note: aluminum weighs considerably less than a loaded 32 ACP cartridge, so a magazine of dummies will not feel like a loaded magazine. That does not affect function checking, but do not judge by weight.
Working with other pocket calibers? The line also covers 25 ACP and 45 Auto. Construction details are published by A-Zoom.
For collectors, pocket pistol carriers and anyone maintaining a classic 32, A-Zoom 32 ACP Snap Caps are the sensible buy. MAG5 Firearms stocks them as manufacturer item PA15153 in the five pack.
