Each round is CNC machined from solid aluminum billet to full cartridge dimensions and hard anodized red. One piece, no separate case head, no plastic body. That construction matters more than usual on a cartridge this small, since there is very little material anywhere in a Hornet case for a two-piece dummy to hold onto.
The primer end carries a proprietary polymer cushion rather than a live primer. A-Zoom rates it beyond three thousand strikes and it decelerates the firing pin much as a real primer would, instead of letting it stop hard against the bolt face.

Field Notes
Set triggers are the strongest argument for owning a pair. Rifles with a double set trigger need the mechanism cycled to unset it, and doing that repeatedly on an empty chamber is how firing pins and sears get abused. A-Zoom 22 Hornet Snap Caps solve that for the price of a box of ammunition.
