CCI 22 WRF 45gr JHP – Reliable Rimfire Hollow Point Ammo, 1300 fps, 50 Rounds

Description

CCI 22 WRF 45gr JHP ammunition keeps one of the oldest rimfire cartridges in the field. The 22 Winchester Rimfire dates to the 1890s, and CCI is one of the very few companies still loading it. This load uses a 45 grain jacketed hollow point with copper bullet construction and a special base that CCI says is well suited to old barrels, driven to a rated 1300 feet per second with reliable CCI priming. It is a practical choice for owners of classic pump and lever rifles as well as modern revolvers chambered for the round.

Why Shooters Choose This 22 Winchester Rimfire Ammo

• 45 grain jacketed hollow point bullet
• Rated 1300 fps
• Bullet base designed with older barrels in mind, per CCI
• Reliable CCI rimfire priming
• Packed 50 rounds per box, CCI 0069

CCI 22 WRF 45gr JHP Features

• A 22 wrf hollow point for small game and pests
• More power than a 22 LR, less than a 22 WMR
• Works in firearms chambered for 22 WRF
• Many 22 WMR revolvers can also fire 22 WRF; check your manual first

Before shooting an old rifle, have a gunsmith check headspace and the condition of the bore and action. Pitting and worn parts are common in rifles more than a century old, and a quick inspection helps you enjoy them safely.

Clean vintage barrels gently with a coated rod or bore snake, since aggressive brushing can damage an already worn bore. Consistent care keeps accuracy as good as the old rifle can deliver.

Whether you are plinking cans with a family heirloom or hunting squirrels in the same woods your grandparents did, this ammunition connects modern performance with a cartridge that has been part of American hunting for well over a century.

Because it runs at modest pressure, the 22 WRF is pleasant to shoot and quiet compared with centerfire cartridges, which makes it a fine choice for small farms and wooded properties where noise and ricochet are concerns. Always know your backstop, since even a rimfire bullet can travel a long way.

Collectors and hunters alike appreciate that this load keeps classic firearms functional instead of relegating them to a display case. A rifle that gets used is a rifle that gets passed down, and having dependable ammunition is the first step.

Keeping Classic Rifles Shooting

Many 22 WRF rifles are family heirlooms, including early Winchester and Remington pump guns. Because factory ammunition is so scarce, owners often have trouble keeping them in use. This load gives those rifles a reliable modern cartridge with a bullet designed not to punish an older bore.

As rimfire hunting ammo, the 22 WRF shoots flatter and hits harder than the 22 LR, making it a good match for squirrels, rabbits and small pests at typical rimfire distances. Its hollow point expands reliably for quick, humane kills.

Owners of vintage and modern rifles and revolvers chambered for 22 WRF, including many shooters who want to put a grandfather’s rifle back to work, will get the most from this load. Some 22 WMR revolvers and rifles can safely fire 22 WRF, but always check the manufacturer’s guidance before doing so, and never fire 22 WMR in a 22 WRF chamber.

Store this ammunition in a cool, dry place in the original box. Because 22 WRF production is limited, many owners keep a few extra boxes on hand so their rifles stay in service.
