DoubleTap 10mm 230gr Equalizer – Superb 10mm Auto Defense Ammo, 1040 fps, 20 Rounds

Description

The DoubleTap 10mm 230gr Equalizer load is built for shooters who want more from their 10mm Auto than typical factory ammunition delivers. DoubleTap loads a 230 grain Equalizer dual-projectile load (135 grain JHP plus 95 grain lead ball) to a rated 1040 feet per second, producing about 553 foot-pounds of energy from a Glock 20. Each Equalizer cartridge holds two projectiles, a 135 grain jacketed hollow point in front and a 95 grain lead ball behind it, so every trigger pull puts two hits on target.

Why Choose the DoubleTap 10mm 230gr Equalizer

• Two projectiles per round: 135 gr JHP plus 95 gr lead ball
• Rated 1040 fps, 553 ft-lbs (Glock 20)
• Second projectile lands close to the first at typical defensive distances
• Brass cases, made in the USA
• 20 rounds per box, item 10MM230EQ

Built for Personal Protection

• Home defense where more hits per shot are an advantage
• Concealed carry with a full-size or compact 10mm
• Shooters who want a manageable-recoil 10mm defensive load
• Not recommended for use with suppressors

Many 10mm owners keep more than one load on hand. The DoubleTap 10mm 230gr Equalizer is the specialty option in the lineup, alongside the single-bullet 125, 135, 180 and 200 grain hollow points and the hardcast solids for the outdoors.

Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance DoubleTap builds into every cartridge.

Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the DoubleTap 10mm 230gr Equalizer until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.

Why Choose DoubleTap 10mm Ammo

DoubleTap reports that the lead ball typically strikes less than one inch from the hollow point at 10 yards and about 2.5 inches away at 25 yards. That means a single shot can create two wound channels at typical self-defense distances, while the moderate 1040 fps velocity keeps recoil controllable for fast follow-up shots.

When you compare 10mm self defense ammo, the Equalizer is a different approach from a single heavy bullet. Your 10mm two projectile ammo pairs well with the Glock 20 and 29, 10mm 1911 pistols and other 10mm handguns, but because of its unique design, DoubleTap does not recommend using it with a suppressor. Always pattern it in your own pistol before relying on it.

DoubleTap Ammunition is an American company known for loading popular calibers to their full potential, especially the 10mm Auto and other magnum handgun rounds. Doubletap 10mm ammo is loaded with quality components and brass cases, and many shooters choose it when they want the performance a caliber was designed for rather than a reduced-power range load.

Home-defense shooters and concealed carriers who want two projectiles per shot from their 10mm will find the Equalizer a distinctive choice. Always confirm your firearm is chambered for 10mm Auto, wear eye and ear protection, and follow all federal, state and local laws.
