Grand Power ARAQ-S 762×39 11in Pistol Overview
Grand Power is a Slovakian manufacturer best known in the US for the Stribog pistol caliber carbine and the K100 pistol line. 62x39mm ammunition. Instead of a direct impingement gas system, the ARAQ-S uses a short stroke piston that keeps the action cleaner and runs reliably with steel cased ammunition. Critically, it feeds from standard AK47 and AKM pattern magazines, so you can use the inexpensive, battle proven magazines you may already own. The result is a compact, hard hitting pistol with AR handling and AK dependability.
Short Stroke Piston Reliability
The short stroke piston system keeps hot gas and carbon out of the receiver, which means less cleaning and dependable cycling with a wide variety of 7.62×39 loads, including affordable steel cased ammunition.
Uses AK47 Magazines
The ARAQ-S accepts regular AK47 and AKM pattern magazines. It includes a case deflector and a forward assist, and the AR style safety, magazine release and bolt catch make the manual of arms simple for anyone who has run an AR.
Modular M-LOK Handguard
The free floated handguard has M-LOK slots for lights, grips and other accessories, and it can be removed without tools. A continuous Picatinny top rail gives plenty of room for a red dot or magnifier.
The 7.62×39 Advantage
The 7.62x39mm hits much harder than 5.56 at close range, especially from a short barrel, and it is one of the most affordable centerfire rifle cartridges available. That makes the ARAQ-S a great choice for home defense, truck guns and range fun.
Practice and Training
Regular practice builds confidence and safe handling. Start at close range, focus on sight alignment and a smooth trigger press, and work back as your groups tighten. Dry fire with snap caps at home to improve your trigger control between range trips.
Choosing Ammunition
Try several brands and bullet weights to see what feeds reliably and groups best in your handgun. Use quality full metal jacket loads for practice and proven hollow points for defense, and confirm reliable function with your defensive load before carrying it.
Care and Maintenance
Clean the barrel, slide or cylinder and frame after shooting, apply a light coat of quality lubricant to moving parts, and store the handgun unloaded in a locked case or safe away from children.
Safe Storage
Store handguns unloaded in a locked safe, lockbox or with a cable lock, and keep ammunition separate when children are in the home. Quick access safes keep a defensive handgun secure but available. Teach everyone in the household basic firearm safety rules.
Recommended Accessories
A quality holster, spare magazines, eye and ear protection and a cleaning kit round out any handgun purchase. For defensive use, add a weapon light and practice drawing safely from your holster with an unloaded gun before carrying.
