Description
The Q Mini Fix 6mm ARC Pistol 12 Gray is the pistol configuration of Q’s compact Mini Fix bolt gun, chambered in 6mm ARC with a 12 inch barrel, a gray finish and a folding stabilizing brace. Q, the New Hampshire company behind the Fix and Honey Badger, built the Mini Fix to deliver real reach from a very short, light package. This listing is UPC 810152961599, Q model MINIFIX6ARC12INGRYPIST.
Q Mini Fix 6mm ARC Pistol 12 Gray Overview
The Mini Fix uses a one-piece aluminum receiver and a smooth, short-throw bolt to keep weight and bulk down. The 12 inch barrel has a fast 1:7 twist that stabilizes heavy, high-BC 6mm bullets, and the muzzle is threaded 1/2-28. Q chose 6mm ARC because the cartridge was designed to stay efficient in short barrels, so the Mini Fix keeps much more of its downrange performance than you would expect from a 12 inch tube. The brace folds for transport, which makes this one of the most packable centerfire bolt guns on the market.
Why 6mm ARC
The 6mm ARC fires long, sleek 103 to 110 grain bullets with low recoil, and it holds velocity and resists wind better than 223 or 300 Blackout. From a short barrel it is a capable cartridge for steel out to several hundred yards and for varmints and predators where legal. Expect ammunition to cost more than 223.
Pistol, Not an SBR
This listing is the pistol version with a stabilizing brace and a 12 inch barrel. Q also makes a short-barreled rifle version with a folding stock, which is an NFA item. Do not install a stock on this pistol, because a shoulder stock on a barrel under 16 inches creates a short-barreled rifle that needs an approved ATF Form 1 first.
Threaded and Suppressor Ready
The 1/2-28 thread accepts a brake or flash hider. Suppressors are NFA items that need an approved ATF Form 4 and must be legal in your state, and MAG5 Firearms does not sell NFA items. A short barrel is loud, so wear good hearing protection.
Optics
A compact low-power variable or a small fixed scope suits this gun. Choose an optic with enough eye relief for the brace position and test your zero carefully, since a short barrel can change point of impact between loads.
Price and Value
The Mini Fix is a premium, low-volume gun. You are paying for Q’s engineering, a very light and compact package, and the ability to pair it with Q’s other Fix rifles.
State Laws
Braced pistols, threaded barrels and certain features are restricted in some states. Check your state and local laws and confirm your dealer can transfer handguns.
