Description
The Tanfoglio Hexagon P 9mm Compensated is the polymer-frame version of Tanfoglio’s Hexagon, with a 4.45-inch barrel that has an integral compensator port matched to the hexagonal slide cut.

Tanfoglio Hexagon P 9mm Compensated Overview
Introduced for 2025, the Hexagon P uses a fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame that American Rifleman reports brings weight to about 30 ounces, roughly 15 ounces less than the steel-frame Hexagon Tactical. Distributors list a 4.45-inch hammer-forged barrel with an integral single-port compensator, DA/SA operation, a single-side frame-mounted thumb safety, 17-round capacity and an optics-ready slide with a cover plate. The finish is a black mil-spec coating, and the pistol ships in a hard case; the number of magazines varies by distributor package.
A Tanfoglio Pedigree
Tanfoglio is a family firm in Gardone Val Trompia, Italy, best known for its CZ 75-pattern pistols, which have won a long list of IPSC and USPSA titles. Italian Firearms Group imports the current line to the United States. The design uses a steel slide that rides inside the frame rails, which gives a low bore axis and a very consistent slide-to-frame fit.

Integral Compensator
Instead of a bolt-on comp, the Hexagon P vents gas through a port machined into the barrel and exposed by the slide cut. That reduces muzzle rise slightly with standard 9mm and a little more with hotter loads, without adding length. The trade-off is extra flash and noise directed upward, and powder fouling builds up in the port, so clean it regularly and avoid shooting from retention positions close to your face.
Optics and Sights
The slide is cut for a red dot and ships with a cover plate; reports differ on whether an adapter plate is included, so plan on buying the plate that matches your optic footprint. The front post is interchangeable and the rear sight is fixed. With a dot mounted, the iron sights sit low in the window rather than co-witnessing, so practice finding the dot from the draw.

DA/SA Controls and Carry
A double-action first shot and lighter single-action follow-ups, plus a frame-mounted thumb safety, give you a choice of hammer-down or cocked-and-locked carry. The integrated rail accepts a light. At 4.45 inches with a full grip, the pistol is a duty-size gun; it can be carried, but holsters must be made for the Hexagon P or chosen with care because the comp cut changes the slide profile.
Honest Caveats
The Hexagon P is new to the US market, so holster, magazine and parts support is still thin compared with established polymer pistols. Compensated pistols are louder and flashier for the shooter, especially indoors. The 17-round magazine is not legal in states with capacity limits, and new imports are rarely on state handgun rosters.
State Laws and Ownership
Pennsylvania buyers 21 and older can purchase this pistol through a dealer, and carrying it concealed or loaded in a vehicle generally requires a License to Carry Firearms. Other states are stricter: some keep a roster of approved handguns that imported competition pistols rarely appear on, many cap magazine capacity at 10 or 15 rounds, and some require a purchase permit or waiting period. Check your state and local rules before ordering.
