Description

The Glock 43X MOS Threaded Barrel is the slimline carry Glock configured the way suppressor and compensator owners actually want it: a 3.41-inch threaded barrel, an MOS optic cut for a micro red dot, and a front accessory rail for a light. It is still a single-stack-width gun that disappears under a shirt, which is the whole reason the 43X exists.

What the Glock 43X MOS Threaded Barrel Gives You

Three things separate this from a standard 43X. The barrel is threaded at the muzzle, so a suppressor, a compensator or a thread protector can go on without a gunsmith. The slide carries Glock’s MOS cut, which takes a micro red dot on an adapter plate rather than requiring you to send the slide out for milling. And the frame has a short accessory rail, which the original 43 did not.

Everything else on the Glock 43X MOS Threaded Barrel is standard Glock: the same trigger, the same takedown, and the same parts availability that makes these easy to own for years.

Threaded Barrel, Suppressors and Compensators

The threaded muzzle on the Glock 43X MOS Threaded Barrel opens two doors, and they are not equally easy. A compensator bolts on and works immediately, at the cost of more noise and gas coming back at you and more fouling to clean. A suppressor is a federal NFA item: it needs an ATF Form 4, a two hundred dollar tax stamp, a wait that is measured in months, and it has to be legal in your state. We do not sell NFA items, so plan on sourcing a can through a dealer with an SOT.

If you are not going either route, a thread protector ships as the practical default on the Glock 43X MOS Threaded Barrel and keeps the threads clean.

Optic Mounting on the MOS Slide

The MOS system uses adapter plates rather than a direct cut, which trades a slightly higher optic height for the ability to change footprints later. The common pairing on this gun is a Holosun 507K or 407K, or a Glock-branded micro dot, and adapter plates for those are inexpensive. The factory sights sit low, so you will not co-witness through most micro dots unless you add suppressor-height sights.

Most owners of the Glock 43X MOS Threaded Barrel land on a 507K-class dot and suppressor-height sights, which is the setup that makes the threaded muzzle and the optic cut work together.

Who the Glock 43X MOS Threaded Barrel Suits

This is for the carrier who already runs a red dot or plans to, and who wants the option of a can or a comp later. It also suits shooters with smaller hands who find a double-stack grip too thick — the 43X frame is genuinely slim front to back. If you never intend to thread anything onto the muzzle, the standard 43X MOS saves you money and a thread protector to keep track of.

Shooters cross-shopping the Glock 43X MOS Threaded Barrel against a Glock 48 should know the frames are the same size; the difference is the optic cut, the rail and the threaded muzzle.

Capacity, Magazines and State Limits

This configuration ships with 10-round magazines, which makes it straightforward in states that cap capacity. The frame takes the standard 15-round Glock 48 and 43X magazines as well, plus aftermarket options from Shield Arms and ETS, so you are not locked in if your situation changes. Be honest about what your state allows before ordering spares.

The Glock 43X MOS Threaded Barrel is sold here in the reduced-capacity configuration, so check your own state rules before you order spare magazines.

Holsters and Carry

Because the barrel is threaded, you want a holster with an open muzzle or one cut long enough to clear a thread protector — standard 43X holsters often bottom out. Add a red dot and the list narrows again, so shop for an optic-cut, open-bottom model. Light-bearing options exist for the short rail but are less common than for full-size Glocks.

Expect to spend a little time finding the right rig — the Glock 43X MOS Threaded Barrel is a less common frame profile than a Glock 19, and holster makers catalog fewer models for it.
