ATI 12 GA Target Load 1180 fps 1 oz – Superb 2-3/4 in #7.5 Clay Shells by Cheddite, 25 Rounds

Description

The ATI 12 GA Target Load 1180 fps 1 oz is a soft-shooting practice shell for clay sports. Each 2-3/4 inch hull carries 1 ounce of #7.5 lead shot at a rated 1,180 fps, a combination chosen for comfortable recoil across long sessions. American Tactical sources this load from Cheddite, the Italian shotshell maker known for its hulls and primers. Each box holds 25 rounds.

Why the ATI 12 GA Target Load 1180 fps 1 oz Shoots So Comfortably

Recoil is driven by payload weight and velocity. At 1 ounce and 1,180 fps, this is one of the milder 12 gauge loads you can buy, noticeably gentler than 1-1/8 ounce loads at 1,200 fps or more. That makes it a good low recoil clay load for new shooters, youth shooters in properly fitted guns, and anyone planning to shoot several rounds in a day.

The 12 gauge 7.5 shot size is the standard all-rounder for clays. It delivers a good balance of pellet count and pellet energy, breaking targets well at trap distances and at most skeet and sporting clays stations.

Cheddite is a long-established European manufacturer, and Cheddite target shells are widely used in clay sports. The 2-3/4 inch hull fits every modern 12 gauge shotgun.

Range Tips for the ATI 12 GA Target Load 1180 fps 1 oz

Lighter, slower target loads may not cycle every gas or inertia-driven semi-automatic, especially guns that are brand new or set up for heavy field loads. Pump guns, over-unders and side-by-sides will run them without issue. If you shoot a semi-auto, test a box first.

Pick your choke for the game. Skeet or improved cylinder suits skeet and close sporting clays presentations, while modified or improved modified is common on the trap line. A few shots on a pattern board at 25 to 30 yards will show how evenly the load prints.

This load uses lead shot. Private clubs generally allow lead, but some public ranges and areas near water require non-toxic shot, so check the rules where you shoot. Always wear eye and ear protection, and keep empty hulls picked up.

Who Benefits Most From the ATI 12 GA Target Load 1180 fps 1 oz

This is sporting clays ammo aimed at practice volume and comfort rather than long range performance. Shooters working on fundamentals, running a family day at the range, or shooting a full round of sporting clays will appreciate how little it beats up the shoulder.

There are limits. At 1,180 fps the load gives up some energy at the longest sporting clays targets compared with faster 1,250 fps handicap loads. Competitive shooters chasing the long yardage on the trap line often move up to a heavier, faster shell. Note also that ATI lists state shipping restrictions on its site, so availability may vary by location.

For best results, store shells in a cool, dry place, keep boxes closed until use, and avoid leaving ammunition in a hot vehicle between range trips. Heat and moisture can affect powder and primer performance over time, which shows up as inconsistent velocity and patterns.

Who it is for: 12 gauge clay shooters who want a comfortable, affordable 1 ounce practice load. Follow all range rules and federal, state and local laws when purchasing, storing and using the ATI 12 GA Target Load 1180 fps 1 oz.
