Description
The Derya DY9Z 9mm is a micro compact that holds fifteen rounds, and that sentence is the whole pitch. Model DY9Z.TR measures 6.5 inches long, 5 inches tall and 1.10 inches across, weighs 20 ounces, and carries 15+1 in a package that most manufacturers use for ten or eleven.
It is also optics ready in the way you actually want. The RMSc footprint is milled directly into the slide rather than sitting under an adapter plate, so a Shield RMSc, Holosun 507K or similar mounts flat and low with nothing stacked underneath it. That is the difference between co-witnessing your irons and looking at a dot floating above them.
The Derya DY9Z 9mm arrives in a case with a metal 15-round magazine, three backstraps, a cleaning kit, a spare guide rod and the manual. It is an unusual amount of gun for the money, and the trigger is better than the price suggests.

What a micro compact 15 round pistol gets you
- A micro compact 15 round pistol removes the usual carry compromise: you are not choosing between concealment and capacity
- 1.10 inches across is genuinely flat, which is what decides whether a pistol prints through a shirt
- 20 ounces is heavy enough to soak up 9mm recoil rather than snapping, which is a real advantage over the lightest micros
- Three backstraps mean the grip can be sized to your hand, and grip fit is what decides whether a small pistol shoots well
- It undercuts the established micro compacts by a wide margin without giving up the optic cut

The RMSc direct mount slide and why it matters
Most optics-ready pistols in the Derya DY9Z 9mm price bracket ship with a universal cut and a box of adapter plates. Every plate adds height, adds two more screws that can loosen, and moves the dot further from the bore. The Derya DY9Z 9mm skips all of it: the RMSc direct mount slide cut takes a Shield RMSc-pattern optic straight onto the slide.
The practical result is a lower dot, which means a faster presentation and a better chance that the factory irons still line up underneath the window. It also means one less part to buy and one less thing to get wrong.
Magazines for the Derya DY9Z 9mm: read this before you order
The DY9Z uses Glock 43X and 48 pattern magazines, not Derya DY9 magazines. The full-size DY9 magazine will not work in this pistol, and neither will the aftermarket DY9 magazines we stock for that gun. Derya is explicit about this.
Derya recommends its own dedicated DY9Z magazine and the ACT-MAG for the 43X. A Glock OEM 43X/48 10-round magazine will also run in it, and we stock those in quantity — but Derya discourages long-term use of the OEM Glock magazine because of wear, so treat it as a spare rather than your everyday carry magazine.
Derya also states plainly that it does not endorse Shield Arms or Micro Dagger magazines in its firearms and that using them may void the warranty. We stock Shield Arms parts for Glocks; do not put those magazines in this pistol.
Ammunition for a 3.5 inch barrel
The Derya DY9Z 9mm has a short barrel, and short barrels are harder on hollow points than duty-length ones, because many bullets are designed around the velocity of a four inch gun. Speer Gold Dot Carry Gun 135 grain is built specifically to expand from short barrels and is what we would carry in the Derya DY9Z 9mm. Feed-test any defensive load through a new pistol before you trust it, and put a couple of hundred rounds through it first.
The rest of the Derya range
If your state caps magazines at ten, the 10-round DY9Z is the same pistol. The purple DY9Z is the same gun in a different frame color. If you want a full-size gun instead, the Derya DY9 with the 3.86 inch barrel is the larger pistol — and note again that the two do not share magazines. Derya publishes the full specification on the official DY9Z page.
Why this firearm earns its place
- Fifteen rounds in a pistol 1.10 inches wide and 20 ounces, which is class-leading capacity for the size
- RMSc cut milled into the slide rather than hidden under an adapter plate
- Three backstraps included, so grip fit is solved in the box
- A metal magazine rather than polymer, and a spare guide rod and cleaning kit included
- It costs a fraction of the established micro compacts without giving up the features that matter
This suits the everyday carrier who wants capacity without bulk, the buyer adding a red dot who does not want to fight with adapter plates, and anyone who wants a serious carry pistol without spending six hundred dollars. It is a new design from a manufacturer with a shorter track record than the household names, which is worth knowing and is reflected in the price.
Every firearm we ship goes to a licensed dealer in your state for the transfer and the background check. Magazine capacity is restricted in some states, so check your local rules before you order.
