Description
The Tisas Regent BR9 Black Wood 9mm is the most traditional-looking Regent: a black steel pistol with wood grips, built on the Hi-Power pattern. It suits shooters who want a service-pistol classic without the collector price.

Tisas Regent BR9 Black Wood 9mm Overview
Tisas builds the Regent BR9 in Turkey on the Hi-Power design. It has a steel frame and slide, a single-action hammer-fired trigger, a 4.67-inch barrel with a 1-in-10 twist, an overall length of 7.87 inches and a weight near 31.7 ounces. Capacity is 15+1. The sights are a dovetailed white-dot front and a serrated tactical rear, and there is a thumb safety.
Why the Hi-Power Pattern
The grip is slim for a double-stack 9mm, and the steel frame soaks up recoil so the pistol stays flat. These traits made the original a favorite of militaries worldwide for decades.
Finish and Grips
The black finish is a practical, low-glare choice, and the walnut-toned grip panels give the gun its classic look. Wood can scratch and dent with use, which many owners consider character.
Carry Method
The Regent is meant to be carried cocked and locked: hammer back, thumb safety on. Practice disengaging the safety on every draw. Single-action trigger control is easy to learn but requires consistency.
Magazines and Holsters
Distributor listings vary between one and two 15-round magazines in the box. Hi-Power pattern magazines and leather holsters typically fit the Regent, but confirm compatibility with your specific gear.
Honest Caveats
Hammer bite affects some shooters with large hands, the trigger is not match-grade, and resale value trails Browning and FN. For range shooting, home defense and collection use, it is an excellent value.
Break-In and Care
Steel pistols like the Regent benefit from a little extra lubrication on the slide rails during the first few hundred rounds. Field strip after each session, clean the barrel and feed ramp, and keep the wood grips away from harsh solvents that can damage the finish.
Ammunition
The Regent is designed for standard-pressure 9mm Luger. Use quality brass-cased ammunition for practice and test your preferred defensive hollow point thoroughly before carrying it. Avoid steel-cased ammo, which can be harder on extractors and can fail to feed in tight chambers. Avoid overpressure +P+ loads entirely.
Choosing Between Regent Models
The standard Regent BR9 comes in black or nickel with wood panels, while the Sport trims add G10 grips. The black and wood version is the most understated and closest in spirit to the military Hi-Powers that made the design famous. Choose it if you want a traditional service-pistol look and plan to shoot it rather than polish it.
State Laws and Ownership
A 15-round magazine is over the limit in California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois, Washington and other states with 10-round caps, and some states require roster approval for new handgun models. Check your state and local laws before ordering.

Before You Buy
Federal law requires handgun buyers to be at least 21 years old to purchase from a licensed dealer, and every pistol we sell ships to a local FFL for a background check and transfer. Hi-Power pattern pistols can bite the web of the hand on some shooters; test your grip before a long range session.
