Description
The SK Guns 911 Remembrance 1911 9mm (SK code SKC-25-911-9) is the 25 Years of Remembrance 9/11 2001 to 2026 Commander-size 1911 from SK Customs. It has a 4.25 inch stainless match bull barrel, an integrated rail, a satin DLC finish and engraving that honors the people lost on September 11, 2001. SK Guns built only 100, each individually numbered.
SK Guns 911 Remembrance 1911 9mm Overview
The left side of the slide shows the Twin Towers with the words 25 Years of Remembrance and the 2026 anniversary date. The right side reads We Will Never Forget with the 2001 date, surrounded by selective scroll and gold borders. SK Guns lists the pistol with its Springfield-based builds, and the store listing describes it as a Springfield. It weighs about 38.5 ounces, is 7.5 inches long and 5.25 inches tall.
Built Like a Carry-Size Custom 1911
The slide and frame are forged carbon steel. SK cuts custom diamond pattern serrations on the slide, checkers the front strap at 20 lines per inch, and installs a one-piece Stan Chen Customs mainspring housing and magazine well checkered at 25 lines per inch. A one-piece full-length guide rod, a black Cerakote aluminum curved trigger and a single-sided thumb safety complete the controls. The integrated light rail accepts a weapon light.
Barrel, Sights and Capacity
The 4.25 inch forged stainless bull barrel is match grade with a 1:16 twist. A green fiber optic front sight sits ahead of a black serrated rear, which is fast to pick up in daylight but not a night sight. The pistol holds 9+1 rounds of 9mm and ships with two magazines.
Satin DLC Finish Care
The satin diamond-like carbon coating is hard and scratch resistant, but SK Guns warns that the underlying steel is still carbon steel. Keep it well oiled and store it in a temperature-controlled space, especially if you live somewhere humid. Wipe off fingerprints after handling, because salts and moisture cause rust where the coating wears.
Grips and Handling
Kirinite REACTIV black grips give a secure hold without being abrasive. A Commander-length slide with a full-size grip frame balances well and handles 9mm recoil easily. Because of the bull barrel and rail, standard Commander holsters will not fit; look for holsters cut for a railed 4.25 inch 1911.
Collector Considerations
With only 100 made, most buyers will keep this pistol as a display piece or a tribute. Firing it adds wear that collectors notice. Keep the box and documentation together. SK Guns notes the pistol is not California compliant.
State Laws and Ownership
Handgun rules vary by state. This pistol is not on the California roster, and other roster states such as Massachusetts may also prohibit it. Some states require a permit or license to buy any handgun. Your receiving FFL must confirm the transfer before you order.
