Description
The SK Guns Pascual Orozco Colt 38 Super is the third pistol in SK Customs’ La Revolución series: a Colt 1911 Government Model in 38 Super, finished in high polish royal blue with selective silver plating and heavy engraving. SK Customs announced only 300, each engraved with its edition number.
SK Guns Pascual Orozco Colt 38 Super Overview
SK Customs is known for commemorative pistols that tell a story on the steel. This one honors Pascual Orozco, a leader in the Mexican Revolution who won the first major victories in the north in 1910 and 1911. The slide and frame carry the Monument to the Revolution, a canna lily, Orozco on horseback with his troops at the Battle of Cañón de Mal Paso, the Orozco family coat of arms, his portrait, a bandolier and the Mexican eagle of the era.
A Real Colt Government Model
Under the art is a full-size Colt 1911 Government in 38 Super, with a 5 inch barrel and a single stack magazine. 38 Super is a classic in Mexico and Latin America, and it gives a flatter trajectory and more velocity than 9mm from the same size pistol. The store listing shows nine round capacity; check the magazine count included with your pistol.
Engraving and Finish
The silver plated scenes stand out against the deep polished blue, and the frame carries Orozco’s famous quote about sending the uniforms to Díaz. A high polish blue finish is beautiful but delicate: fingerprints can etch it, and holster wear will show quickly. Handle it with clean hands, wipe it with a silicone cloth, and store it in a dry place.
Shoot It or Display It
It is a functional Colt and can be fired, but most owners keep a numbered commemorative unfired to protect its collector value. Firing it, carrying it or adding holster wear will reduce its value to collectors. If you do shoot it, use quality ammunition, clean it carefully afterward, and avoid harsh solvents on the plating.
Collector Notes
Limited series pistols from SK Customs have a strong following, and the La Revolución line also includes Pancho Villa, Venustiano Carranza and Francisco Madero models. Keep the box, paperwork and any certificate together, because complete examples are worth more. Edition numbers vary, and SK Customs lists this run as sold out at the factory.
38 Super Ammunition
38 Super is less common on store shelves than 9mm or 45 ACP, and it costs more per round. Use standard 38 Super or 38 Super +P loads only, never 38 Super Comp brass in a pistol not marked for it, and never 38 Special or 38 ACP. Shooters who plan to practice often should stock up.
State Laws and Ownership
Handgun rules vary by state. Roster states such as California and Massachusetts generally do not list commemorative custom pistols, and some states require a permit or license to buy any handgun. Ask your receiving FFL to confirm the transfer before you order.
