Description
The Bergara Cima Pro 25 Creedmoor is the most advanced lightweight hunting rifle Bergara has built, with carbon fiber used from the stock all the way to the barrel. This configuration (Bergara BPR38-25CM, UPC 043125000869) is chambered in 25 Creedmoor with a 20-inch CURE carbon barrel, a Titanium Cerakote Premier action, a TriggerTech trigger and an M5 floor plate, and it weighs about 5.5 pounds.
Bergara Cima Pro 25 Creedmoor Overview
The Cima Pro sits in Bergara’s Premier line, built in the USA around the Premier action rather than the B-14. Every major component was chosen to cut weight without giving up rigidity, so the rifle carries easily on long backcountry hunts yet stays steady and accurate when it is time to make the shot.
Autoclave Carbon Fiber Stock
The stock is cured in an autoclave, a process that achieves the highest possible ratio of fiber to resin. The result is a shell that is extremely light yet very stiff, absorbs recoil well and resists impact, temperature swings and wet weather. Brown and tan sponge accents give it a natural look that blends into the field.
CURE Carbon Barrel
Bergara solved the common problem of carbon barrels walking as they heat up by managing heat between the steel liner and the carbon wrap. A patent-pending carbon weave with embedded stainless strands moves heat away from the bore, so the CURE carbon barrel stays straight, stiff and consistent shot after shot. The muzzle is threaded for a brake or suppressor.
Premier Action and TriggerTech Trigger
The Premier action is machined from 416 stainless steel with lightening cuts and a wider ejection port for smooth feeding and extraction. It uses an R700 pattern scope base with 8×40 screws, so mounting optics is simple. A TriggerTech trigger delivers a crisp, clean break with zero creep and is adjustable to suit your preference.
Why the 25 Creedmoor
The 25 Creedmoor necks the efficient 6.5 Creedmoor case to fire long, high-BC .257 caliber bullets, and the fast 1:7.5 twist is built to stabilize them. It shoots flatter than the 6.5 Creedmoor with similar mild recoil and carries plenty of energy for deer, pronghorn and black bear at practical hunting ranges.
Choosing Ammunition
A light rifle rewards good ammunition. Test two or three premium hunting loads with bonded or monolithic bullets and choose the one that groups best from your barrel. Confirm your zero and check your drops at the distances you expect to shoot before the season opens.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean the bore with a quality copper solvent every few range sessions and after the hunt, and avoid harsh scrubbing at the crown. Wipe the action and bolt with a light coat of oil, check action screw torque once in a while, and store the rifle muzzle down so oil does not drain into the stock.
Safe Storage at Home
Store the rifle unloaded in a locked safe or cabinet with ammunition kept separately. Teach everyone in the household basic safety rules, and use a lock for travel.
