Description
The Browning X-Bolt 2 All Purpose 7mm PRC is a rifle chambered in 7mm PRC with a 18-inch barrel and a 5+1 capacity. Browning lists it as item number 036109298.
Browning X-Bolt 2 All Purpose 7mm PRC Overview
The X-Bolt 2 builds on Browning’s popular X-Bolt platform with the DLX trigger and the Vari-Tech stock system, which lets you adjust length of pull, comb height, and grip angle to fit your build. It keeps the X-Bolt’s detachable rotary magazine, short 60-degree bolt lift, and bolt unlock button for unloading with the safety on.
Design and Features
This X-Bolt 2 All Purpose features a matte blued barrel finish, a composite stock, a threaded muzzle (5/8 – 24 SR), an Inflex 1.25 recoil pad, and overmolded grip panels. The barrel has a 1:8-inch twist. Magazine capacity is 5. It weighs 7 lbs 3 oz and measures 38 3/4″ overall. Length of pull is 13 5/8″ Adj.
Handling in the Field
It shoulders comfortably and balances well, so it carries easily in the field and settles quickly for the shot.
Action and Trigger
The DLX trigger is crisp and adjustable, and the 60-degree bolt lift gives plenty of scope clearance and fast cycling.
Sights and Optics
Mount the optic of your choice with quality rings or a mount, and zero it with the load you plan to use.
The 7mm PRC Cartridge
The 7mm PRC is a modern long-action magnum built around long, heavy-for-caliber bullets, delivering flat trajectories and serious energy for elk-size game at distance.
Setup and Accessories
Start with a quality optic and solid rings or a mount, then add a sling for carrying and a bipod or shooting bag for steady rests. Test a few loads for accuracy and settle on the one your rifle likes best. A hard case protects your investment on the way to the range or the field.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the rifle and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the bolt face and chamber. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
