Smith Wesson Shield Plus Carry Bundle slim black 9mm carry pistol with thumb safety

The Smith Wesson Shield Plus Carry Bundle is the Shield Plus with a thumb safety, supplied as a complete carry package with four additional 13-round magazines and a padded pistol bag on top of the standard pair.

Smith Wesson Shield Plus Carry Bundle: same size, more rounds

The Smith Wesson Shield Plus Carry Bundle starts from a pistol that made a slim single-stack 9mm that people would actually carry. The Shield Plus keeps the same external footprint, 1.1 inches wide and 4.6 inches tall, and fits a stack-and-a-half magazine inside it. That takes capacity from seven or eight rounds to ten flush or thirteen extended without making the pistol any harder to conceal.

At 17.9 ounces it is light enough to carry all day on a decent belt, and both magazines come in the box, so you get the flush ten-rounder for deep concealment and the thirteen-rounder for range work or winter carry.

The Smith Wesson Shield Plus Carry Bundle uses the 18 degree grip angle, which is shared with the rest of the M&P line and gives a natural point of aim. Enhanced grip texture holds the pistol firmly in a wet hand while staying comfortable against skin during all-day carry, which is a harder balance than it sounds.

What the Smith Wesson Shield Plus Carry Bundle adds

Four additional 13-round magazines come in the box alongside the standard flush 10-rounder and extended 13-rounder. Smith and Wesson put the added value at up to 199 dollars, and magazines are the item most new pistol owners underbuy.

Six magazines changes what a range session looks like. You can load them all before you start and shoot seventy-plus rounds without stopping, which is how skill actually gets built rather than spending half the trip thumbing rounds into a magazine.

A the supplied pistol bag is also included, which is a real range bag rather than the blow-moulded case most pistols ship in. Between the magazines and the bag, this is a complete setup out of the shop.

Why Six Magazines Matters

Almost every new pistol owner buys the gun, shoots the two magazines that came with it, and then spends the rest of the session loading. It is the single biggest reason range trips end early and skills plateau, and it is entirely fixable by owning more magazines.

Six magazines also lets you separate carry from practice. Two can stay loaded with defensive ammunition and be left alone, while the rest take the abuse of being dropped on concrete during reload drills. Magazines are a wear item, and the ones you drop are not the ones you want in the gun when it counts.

Worth noting: magazine springs do not weaken from being left loaded, but they do weaken from repeated compression cycles. Rotating your practice magazines and leaving your carry pair alone is the sensible approach.

Why Buyers Choose the Smith Wesson Shield Plus Carry Bundle

Six magazines and a range bag with the pistol costs far less than assembling the same thing separately, and it removes the most common reason people do not practise enough.

Thirteen rounds in a pistol 1.1 inches wide is a strong capacity-to-size ratio, and the footprint is what decides whether a gun conceals.

The flat trigger with a positive reset is a real improvement over the original Shield, and trigger control matters most on a small pistol.

A thumb safety suits carriers who use soft-sided bags or pocket carry, where a trigger guard is less reliably covered than in a rigid holster.

Who Should Buy It

The Smith Wesson Shield Plus Carry Bundle suits first-time carriers who want everything needed in one purchase, shooters who intend to train seriously and know they will want spare magazines, and anyone who prefers a manual thumb safety. Practise the safety until sweeping it off is automatic.
