Description

The LWRC IC-DI 300 Blackout FDE is LWRC’s direct-impingement Individual Carbine, chambered in .300 AAC Blackout and finished in flat dark earth. It keeps the features LWRC is known for, a keyless bolt carrier, fully ambidextrous controls and a NiCorr-treated cold hammer-forged barrel, in a lighter and less expensive package than the piston guns. It weighs 6.6 pounds.
Direct Impingement, Done Properly
LWRC built the IC-DI for shooters who want the company’s receivers, controls and barrel quality without the weight or cost of a piston system. The gas block and gas tube are NiCorr treated like the barrel, so the parts that see the most heat and carbon are the parts hardened against it. The bolt carrier uses LWRC’s keyless design, which removes the cam pin key and the screws that traditionally work loose on an AR carrier.
LWRC IC-DI 300 Blackout FDE Barrel
The 16.1-inch barrel is cold hammer forged and NiCorr treated, with a 1:7 twist. That twist is the right choice for .300 Blackout because it stabilizes the heavy 190- to 220-grain subsonic bullets that make the cartridge worth owning, as well as lighter supersonic loads. An A2 flash hider caps the muzzle.
Why .300 Blackout
The .300 AAC Blackout was designed to deliver .30-caliber performance from a short AR barrel and to run quiet with subsonic loads and a suppressor. Supersonic 110- to 125-grain loads hit noticeably harder than 5.56 at close range, and heavy subsonics behind a can are about as quiet as a centerfire rifle gets. It uses standard AR magazines and a standard bolt face, so nothing else about the rifle changes.

The M-LOK Rail and Ambidextrous Lower
The free-float M-LOK handguard keeps the barrel untouched by anything you bolt on, so a light, a bipod or a hand stop cannot shift your zero. Underneath, the lower receiver carries ambidextrous controls as standard and the charging handle is ambidextrous as well, which makes the rifle equally comfortable from either shoulder. The six-position stock has a QD sling socket built in.
Why Buyers Choose the LWRC IC-DI 300 Blackout FDE
Most .300 Blackout ARs are built to a price, and it shows in the barrel. This one has a cold hammer-forged, NiCorr-treated barrel with a correct 1:7 twist, on receivers made by a company that supplies military and law enforcement customers. At 6.6 pounds it is light enough to carry all day, and the flat dark earth finish covers the whole rifle rather than just the upper.
Who Should Buy It
This suits the shooter building a suppressor host, the hog hunter who wants more bullet weight than 5.56 offers at close range, and anyone who wants LWRC build quality without paying for the piston system. Standard AR-15 magazines work, but load subsonic ammunition carefully since heavy bullets can be sensitive to magazine and feed-lip geometry. Add an optic, because the rifle ships without sights.
