The Wilson Combat AR-10 receiver set, sold as the BILLet-AR, is a matched upper and lower machined from 7075-T6 aluminum billet in Wilson Combat’s Berryville, Arkansas facility. Bill Wilson and his design team built it to address the structural weaknesses of standard USGI receivers, and the result is a tighter, stiffer foundation for a precision AR-10 build. This version uses the lightweight upper with no forward assist.
What Billet Machining Buys You
CNC machined from 7075-T6 aerospace aluminum billet rather than forged and finished, which allows features a forging cannot carry.

The Wilson Combat AR-10 receiver set is billet, and billet versus forged is often discussed as though one is simply better, which misses the point. Forging aligns the grain structure of the aluminum and is the stronger process for a given shape, which is why mil-spec receivers are forged. Billet machining starts from solid bar stock and can cut geometry a forging die cannot produce, which is how you get an integral trigger guard, an oversize magazine well and a lightened side profile on the same part.
For a precision build where fit and features matter more than absolute cost, billet is the reason to pay more.

Note that the lower receiver is the serialized firearm, so this set transfers through a licensed dealer exactly as a complete rifle would.
