Fiocchi 308 Win 150gr FMJBT Range Dynamics – Reliable 20 Round Box

Description

The Fiocchi 308 Win 150gr FMJBT load, item 308AFOA, is a 20 round box of 308 Winchester ammunition from the Fiocchi Range Dynamics line, loaded with a 150 grain full metal jacket boat tail (fmjbt) bullet rated at 2,810 fps. Distributors sometimes list it under the earlier Shooting Dynamics rifle name.

Fiocchi 308 Win 150gr FMJBT Overview

A 150 grain bullet is the most common 308 Winchester weight, and many rifles are zeroed with it. Using a boat tail full metal jacket in that weight gives you an affordable way to practice with recoil and trajectory close to many 150 grain hunting loads. Fiocchi lists the muzzle velocity at 2,810 fps; one distributor catalog shows 2,890 fps, so use your own chronograph data if precise drop matters. The 20 round box is easy to carry to the range, and buying several boxes from one lot keeps your results consistent.

Intended Use

This is range and training ammunition. Full metal jacket bullets do not expand, so they are a poor choice for self-defense or hunting, where they can over-penetrate. Use this load to build skill, break in a new firearm and confirm function, then carry or hunt with a load designed for that purpose.

Bullet and Ballistics

The boat tail base improves the ballistic coefficient compared with a flat-base bullet, which helps the round hold velocity and resist wind drift at longer distances. Fiocchi publishes a G1 coefficient of .398. That makes this a sensible load for steel and paper out to typical rifle ranges. Because it is a non-expanding full metal jacket, it is not suitable for hunting, and many states prohibit it for big game.

Firearm Compatibility

Fire this ammunition in rifles chambered for 308 Winchester. Most modern rifles marked 7.62×51 NATO can also fire 308 Winchester, but chamber dimensions and pressure standards differ slightly, so follow your rifle maker’s guidance. Do not fire it in rifles chambered for 300 Blackout, 30-06 or other 30 caliber cartridges. It runs in bolt-action, semi-automatic and single-shot rifles.

Reliability and Testing

Factory ammunition from an established maker is held to consistent standards, but every firearm is a little different. Shoot at least a box through your gun before you rely on any load, and watch for clean primer strikes, smooth feeding and positive extraction. If you shoot more than one load, note where each one prints at your usual distance so you can adjust your sights or holds.

Recoil and Shootability

Recoil from a 150 grain 308 load is firm but manageable in a rifle of normal weight, and a muzzle brake or good recoil pad makes long sessions easy. Lighter rifles kick harder, so build up round counts gradually. If you plan to hunt with a different 150 grain bullet, confirm your zero with that load before the season.

Storage and Care

Store ammunition in a cool, dry place in its original box, away from solvents and lubricants that can contaminate primers. Inspect rounds for dents, loose bullets or corrosion before loading, and set aside anything that looks damaged.
