The Rizzini BR110 Light Luxe 16 Gauge is an Italian over and under field shotgun with 28 inch chrome lined, vent rib barrels, a gray anodized light alloy receiver reinforced with titanium and a Turkish walnut stock. This listing is UPC 853418243169, Rizzini model 11021628.
Rizzini BR110 Light Luxe 16 Gauge Overview
Rizzini builds its shotguns in the Val Trompia region of northern Italy, the heart of Italian gunmaking. The BR110 Light Luxe is a lighter, dressed up version of the popular BR110, made for hunters who walk all day and still want the look and feel of a traditional Italian over and under.
Light Alloy Receiver
The box lock action is made from a gray anodized light alloy and reinforced inside with titanium for durability. The 16 gauge sits between the 12 and 20 in size and weight, a classic upland bore that many hunters feel gives the best balance of payload and carry weight.
Engraving and Wood
Ornamental laser engraving with gauge specific game scenes decorates the receiver. The Turkish walnut stock has an oil finish, 20 lines per inch checkering, a pistol grip and a rounded forend that is easy to hold.
Barrels and Chokes
The 28 inch chrome lined barrels have a ventilated 7x7mm top rib and solid side ribs. Five flush, nickel coated choke tubes, from cylinder through full, let you set the gun up for close flushing birds or longer passing shots.
Trigger and Ejectors
A single selective trigger lets you choose which barrel fires first, and automatic ejectors kick out fired hulls while leaving unfired shells in place for a fast reload. The safety is manual.
Fit
Rizzini lists a 14 1/2 inch length of pull, 1 2/5 inch drop at comb and 2 1/4 inch drop at heel, with a 1/2 inch rubber pad. Most adults of average build can shoot it well as is, and a gunsmith can adjust length of pull if you need a better fit.
Choosing Shells
The 16 gauge is a classic upland bore with a loyal following, though shells are less common than 12 or 20 gauge. One ounce to 1 1/8 ounce loads of #6 to #8 shot cover most upland birds. Check the chamber length stamped on the barrels before buying shells.
Cleaning and Care
Wipe the barrels and action after each outing, and keep a light coat of oil on metal parts. Oil finished walnut benefits from an occasional coat of stock oil. Store the gun broken down or in its case, away from damp basements and car trunks.
State Laws
Shotguns are legal to own in all states, but transport and hunting rules vary. Check your state game laws for shot types and hunting seasons. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
