Description
The Taylors Outlaw Legacy 357 Nickel 5.5 is an engraved, nickel-finished 1873 single action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum with a 5.5 inch barrel and white Navy-style grips. Built by Pietta for Taylor’s and Company, it captures the look of a frontier showpiece while also shooting .38 Special.

Taylors Outlaw Legacy 357 Nickel 5.5 Overview
The 1873 single action is the most famous revolver of the American West, and the Outlaw Legacy dresses it up with full engraving and a bright nickel finish. Taylor’s and Company, a well known importer of historic reproductions, offers this revolver built by Pietta in Italy. The frame, barrel, half-fluted cylinder and trigger guard are nickeled steel with engraving, and the white Navy-shaped grips complete the classic look. 5 inch round barrel has six grooves and a fixed blade front sight paired with the traditional notch rear sight in the frame.
38 Special, which is ideal for cowboy action shooting and economical practice. The revolver uses a traditional hammer-mounted firing pin and a manual cylinder pin safety. 4 pounds.
Engraved Nickel Finish
The engraving and nickel finish make the Outlaw Legacy a revolver you will want to display as much as shoot. Wipe it down after handling to protect the finish from fingerprints and moisture, and store it in a soft case or display box. A quality leather holster with a smooth lining will help keep the finish looking new.

357 Magnum and 38 Special
The ability to shoot both .357 Magnum and .38 Special adds versatility. Light .38 Special cowboy loads are perfect for target practice and cowboy action matches, while .357 Magnum gives more power for the trail. Use standard pressure lead or jacketed loads designed for single action revolvers.
Shooting a Single Action Safely
Load single action revolvers with five rounds and an empty chamber under the hammer, a long-standing safe practice for traditional designs. Learn the loading gate and half-cock procedure before you head to the range, and practice cocking the hammer smoothly for consistent shots.

Practice and Training
Regular practice builds confidence and safe handling. Start at close range, focus on sight alignment and a smooth trigger press, and work back as your groups tighten. Dry fire with snap caps at home to improve your trigger control between range trips.
Choosing Ammunition
Try several brands and bullet weights to see what feeds reliably and groups best in your handgun. Use quality full metal jacket loads for practice and proven hollow points for defense, and confirm reliable function with your defensive load before carrying it.
Care and Maintenance
Clean the barrel, slide or cylinder and frame after shooting, apply a light coat of quality lubricant to moving parts, and store the handgun unloaded in a locked case or safe away from children.
Safe Storage
Store handguns unloaded in a locked safe, lockbox or with a cable lock, and keep ammunition separate when children are in the home. Quick access safes keep a defensive handgun secure but available. Teach everyone in the household basic firearm safety rules.
Recommended Accessories
A quality holster, spare magazines, eye and ear protection and a cleaning kit round out any handgun purchase. For defensive use, add a weapon light and practice drawing safely from your holster with an unloaded gun before carrying.
