Description
The Sig Sauer Cross 277 Fury chambers the most interesting new cartridge in decades in a rifle that folds to fit a pack. MAG5 Firearms stocks this Cross with a 20-inch threaded barrel, a precision adjustable folding stock, an M-LOK handguard and a receiver rail that runs the length of the action.
The 277 SIG Fury Cartridge
Fury is built around a hybrid case: a stainless steel head joined to a brass body, which lets it run at pressures conventional brass cannot survive. The result is velocity from a 20-inch barrel that normally requires a magnum case and a much longer tube.
SIG developed the round for the Army Next Generation Squad Weapon program, and the Sig Sauer Cross 277 Fury is the bolt-action route into it. For hunters, it means flat trajectory and retained energy well past the distances a standard short-action cartridge covers.
Sig Sauer Cross 277 Fury Chassis and Folding Stock
The folding stock is the feature that defines the Cross line. Folded, the rifle fits across a pack or into a case that does not look like a rifle case. Deployed, the stock adjusts for both length of pull and comb height so the shooter builds the same position every time.
An aluminum receiver with a full-length Picatinny rail removes the scope base as a separate part, which is one fewer thing to work loose under recoil.

Handguard, Mounting and Field Use
M-LOK slots run along the handguard for bipods, lights and sling hardware, mounted where they are actually needed rather than where a fixed stud happens to sit.
Because the handguard free-floats the barrel, a bipod or a pack rest does not shift point of impact. That is the difference between a rifle that groups on a bench and one that groups in the field.
Barrel, Threads and Suppressor Use
The 20-inch barrel is threaded from the factory, and Fury was designed with suppressor use in mind from the start. A can changes the balance less on this rifle than on most bolt guns because the chassis carries weight rearward.
Twenty inches is also the length where this cartridge makes sense. Shorter barrels give away the velocity that the hybrid case was engineered to produce.
