Description
The Federal 9mm 147gr HST load is built for shooters who want more from their 9mm Luger than typical factory ammunition delivers. Federal loads a 147 grain HST jacketed hollow point to a rated 1000 feet per second, producing about 326 foot-pounds of energy. Federal HST was developed for law enforcement and has become one of the most trusted defensive bullets available. Its pre-skived jacket mouth and specially designed hollow point deliver consistent expansion and penetration through heavy clothing and other common barriers, and the bullet retains nearly all of its weight.
Personal Defense HST loads it in nickel-plated cases for smooth feeding and corrosion resistance.

Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance Federal builds into every cartridge.
Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the Federal 9mm 147gr HST until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.
The 9mm Luger was designed by Georg Luger in 1901 and is now the most popular handgun cartridge in the world, used by police agencies, militaries and private citizens. Its mild recoil, high magazine capacity and low cost make it ideal for high-volume practice, and it has become the most common chambering for pistol caliber carbines as well.
