Chiappa LA322 Carbine Takedown 22 WMR Overview
The LA322 Carbine Takedown is a Chiappa lever action rifle. Lever guns are fast handling, quick to cycle and easy to carry in thick cover, a classic American design that still works.
Action and Controls
The LA322 Carbine Takedown is a lever action rifle. It holds 10+1 rounds. The trigger is Single Stage. The safety is hammer. This is a right hand model.
Barrel
The 18.50 inch barrel. Sights are Fixed Front/Adj Rear.
Stock and Fit
The stock is wood with a wood finish. Check the length of pull against your own fit, especially if you shoot in heavy clothing. Metal surfaces wear Blued.
Size and Handling
Overall length is 35.50″. It weighs about 5.52 lbs. A steady rest, a good sling and practice from field positions will help you shoot it well.
Ammo and Practice
Rimfire ammo varies a lot between brands, so try a few to find what feeds and groups best in this rifle before you buy in bulk.
The 22 WMR
The 22 WMR has noticeably more energy than a 22 LR, which makes it a good small game and varmint round out to moderate range.
Small Game and Plinking
This rifle is great for small game, plinking and teaching new shooters, with cheap ammo and almost no recoil.
Optics and Accessories
Plan on quality scope rings or mounts, a sling, a hard or soft case and a cleaning kit. A bipod or shooting sticks help a lot for steady shots in the field or at the bench.
Buying Tips
Budget for quality optics or sights, a sling and ammo, and confirm your zero at the distances you expect to shoot.
Care and Value
Clean the bore and action after each range trip or hunt, keep moving parts lightly oiled and wipe the finish after handling. A well kept Chiappa holds its value.
State Laws
Some states limit semi-auto features, magazine capacity and hunting calibers. Check your local law before you buy. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
