Trijicon MRO HD Circle Dot Low Mount Overview
Trijicon part MRO-C-2200051 is the MRO HD, the high-definition version of Trijicon’s Miniature Rifle Optic with a selectable circle-dot reticle. The 25mm objective and short tube give the MRO one of the widest fields of view of any micro red dot, which makes it easy to find the dot with both eyes open.
The HD Reticle
The MRO HD projects a 68 MOA circle around a 2 MOA center dot, and you can switch between the full reticle and the dot alone. The large circle is extremely fast to pick up at close range and helps with movers, while the dot handles precise shots at distance. The HD version also adds improved glass and coatings over the original MRO.
Power and Brightness
The HD uses a single coin cell with 16 brightness settings, 4 of them for night vision devices. Trijicon rates battery life at about 2.5 years with the dot alone at setting 5 of 8, but only about 75 days with the full circle reticle lit, so most users run the circle for defense and the dot for range work, or change the battery on a schedule.
Mounting
This package includes Trijicon’s low mount, which places the MRO close to the rail. It suits shotguns, rimfires and rifles with low-profile irons, but on a typical flat-top AR-15 most shooters prefer a taller lower 1/3 or full co-witness mount.
Magnifier and Night Vision
The MRO HD works with Trijicon’s 3x magnifier and night vision devices. Behind a magnifier, many shooters switch to the dot-only reticle so the large circle does not cover the target.
Built Like a Trijicon
The MRO SD uses a forged 7075 aluminum housing, sealed and filled with dry nitrogen, and is rated submersible to 100 feet. Capless, sub-flush adjusters move the dot 1/2 MOA per click and cannot be bumped or lose caps. Eight brightness settings include 4 for night vision devices, the top setting is super bright for sunny days. The housing has a matte black finish. The low mount is too low for most flat-top AR-15 shooters; the lower 1/3 or full co-witness packages suit carbines better.

Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
Your First Range Trip
Mount your optic, bore sight it, then fire your first groups at 25 yards before moving to 100. Let the barrel cool between strings, and record your zero and the load you used. Wear eye and ear protection, keep the muzzle in a safe direction, and clean the bore when you get home.
