Description
The Trijicon HD Sights Glock Orange Front set is the orange ringed version of Trijicon’s standard height HD night sights for Glock pistols. It fits the 17, 17L, 19, 22 through 28, 31 through 35, 37 through 39 and the 45, excluding MOS models. The front lamp is green tritium ringed in orange photoluminescent paint and the rear is blacked out.

Orange Or Yellow: Pick By Background, Not By Taste
Trijicon offers this sight with either an orange or a yellow front ring, and the choice is not cosmetic. Orange holds its separation against green, against foliage, against grass and against most blued or black steel. It is the colour that stands out in a wooded or rural setting.
Yellow tends to win against dark clothing, brick, asphalt and indoor backgrounds. If you shoot mostly outdoors or you hunt with a handgun, the Trijicon HD Sights Glock Orange Front set is the one to choose. If you train mostly indoors on dark silhouettes, look at the yellow version instead.
A small number of shooters have colour vision that makes one of the two disappear against certain backgrounds. If you know that about yourself, buy the colour you can actually see rather than the one a review recommended.
Why The Rear Sight Has No Dots
Conventional three dot sights put white rings on the rear blade as well as the front. That gives the eye three things to look at when it should be looking at one. Under stress the eye often settles on the rear sight, which is the closest bright object, and the shot goes wherever the misaligned front blade was pointing.
The rear blade on the Trijicon HD Sights Glock Orange Front set is outlined in black. There is nothing back there to catch the eye, so attention lands on the orange ring and stays there. That is the single biggest practical difference between this design and the three white dot sights most pistols ship with.
A Wide U Notch And A Rack Hook
The rear notch is a U shape measuring one hundred and sixty nine thousandths of an inch across against a front blade of one hundred and forty four thousandths. Twenty five thousandths of total daylight is a generous, fast picture. The rounded bottom of the notch guides the front blade into alignment instead of fighting it.
The front face of the rear blade is steeply hooked so you can catch it on a belt, a holster mouth or a door frame and cycle the slide with one hand. On the Trijicon HD Sights Glock Orange Front set that shelf is a genuine feature rather than a styling detail, and it is the reason these sights end up on so many duty pistols.

Standard Height Matters More Than People Expect
Overall front blade height is two hundred and sixty eight thousandths of an inch, which is factory height. These sights will not clear a suppressor and will not appear inside the window of a red dot mounted in a slide cut. That is the correct height for an iron sighted pistol and the wrong height for either of those setups.
Standard height also keeps the pistol compatible with holsters cut for a factory gun. Taller sights occasionally drag on a tight kydex mouth. If your Glock wears irons only, the Trijicon HD Sights Glock Orange Front set drops in without changing anything else about how you carry it.
Why Shooters Choose The Trijicon HD Sights Glock Orange Front Set
- Orange photoluminescent front ring that separates well outdoors
- Blacked out rear so the eye goes to the front blade
- Wide U-notch for a fast, forgiving sight picture
- Hooked rear blade for one handed slide manipulation
- Green tritium front and rear with no batteries to change
- Standard height, so the pistol still fits every normal holster
Tritium Construction And Service Life
Both lamps glow green. Tritium is self powered, needs no battery and needs no exposure to light to prime it, which is what separates it from a purely photoluminescent sight that fades after an hour in a dark safe. Trijicon builds each lamp into an aluminium cylinder, cushions it in silicone rubber, and caps it with a sapphire jewel.
The jewel spreads the glow evenly across the lamp face and protects it from solvents and from a careless punch during cleaning. Tritium dims slowly over roughly a decade, so the Trijicon HD Sights Glock Orange Front set will outlast most of the rounds the pistol will ever fire before the lamps need replacing.
Installation And Ordering
The rear dovetail wants a proper sight pusher and the front is a hex nut torqued from inside the slide with thread locker. MOS models are excluded, so check your slide before ordering. A gunsmith will fit the Trijicon HD Sights Glock Orange Front set in minutes for less than the cost of refinishing a slide you scarred with a punch.
If you are comparing sight options, browse the rest of our optics and sights and read the manufacturer specification page for the full fit list and the yellow front alternative before you commit.

Ordering The Trijicon HD Sights Glock Orange Front Set
The Trijicon HD Sights Glock Orange Front set ships as a matched front and rear pair under a single part number, so nothing else needs to go in the basket with it. Sights cannot be returned once they have been installed, which is the practical reason to settle the height question and the front colour before a pusher touches the dovetail.
